Oh yeah, driving can be FUN! XD

I am back, victorious, from the longest drive I've made in Oregon for quite some time! Today I did a dry run to the Oregon Convention Center in my car, armed with directions from Google Maps. Worked great!

I forgot how much fun it is to zoom along at high speeds on the freeway. ^^ I did not speed (much), but on the way back, I did pass a cop with his radar gun out, and he ended up busting the car behind me. (I know it was the same cop b/c he got back inside his car as I passed him. O.o)

I am very glad that I have been chauffered through Portland many times, and ridden the train to the Con Center several times as well. Both have made me familiar with the area, particularly the former. Because the odd loop drivers have to make around a random city block to access the Naito Parkway is completely weird. :P WTH, city planners? But oh yeah, this part of Portland was laid out in the 1800s...

It only took me 20 minutes to reach the Center from my apartment. This kind of blows my mind, because it's a 45 minute train ride--after a 15 minute walk or 5 minute drive to get to the closest train station--to do the same. Now I remember why it can be so convenient to own a car.

I know if I park for free at that mall, I'm going to be worried about my car being towed. I'll just be a good girl and pay to park at the convention proper. Peace of mind, and $9 a day to park there is a lot cheaper than bailing my car out of the impound lot, right? I could probably get away with parking at the mall once, but...peace of mind. ><

Once again, a box I ordered online was delivered to someone else. This time, I am SOL for being sent a replacement, because this was an OOP manga volume from a small bookstore. >< Damn it! They used delivery confirmation, and according to same, the package was delivered on April 7th. Sure it was delivered, but not to me. >:/ I called the apartment management office, but they don't have it in their packages room.

True, the post orifice may have lost the package (but then why was delivery confirmed?), but more than likely it was misdelivered, and whoever accepted the box decided to keep it. My complex is big, at least 20 blocks, and each block has an apartment with my number. If they were the same person as took my box from Amazon, they've now been given two books and two CDs on my dime. Jerk!

Am I the only person in my complex who does NOT keep misdelivered packages???! What happened to honesty??!? *growls*

I am mostly over my anger, since I found another copy of the volume--plus two more I needed from the series--at my favorite book store. For cheaper and without shipping, too. I only lost $15 in the end. *sigh*

I ordered a T-shirt from Johnny Wander late last month, and I'd hoped it would be here before Stumptown so I could wear it, but no luck. It was shipped on Monday. I suppose it MIGHT get here today or Friday. If you want to see: it's the Hokusai women's tee at their store. Though I need to lose 15 pounds for it to look as good on me as it does on Yuko. >< Being naturally plump is really frustrating at times.

Work-wise, I'm chugging along. I fell behind last week, but managed to catch up with both Clay and Skip. Now I'm doing the same with Naruto--but only after I finish my 8 daily pages of the other two. It's slow going, obviously.

I have been sucked into the addictive crack that is My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. *big grin* I'll share more on a dedicated post in a few days, I think. Heeee! XD
