I'm in your list of works, stalking your stories...
Artist's claiming on my first of two Big Bangs this year happens on the 20th. A mandatory author's check-in poll is happening right now, and I'm stalking it for possible stories to claim. Making a list and everything!
I have my list divided into three sections: 1. fandoms popular right now (Avengers, Hunger Games, ASoIaF/GoT); 2. classic fandoms (HP, SPN, NCIS, Twilight [ugh, but true]), and 3. drawn fandoms (Legend of Korra--of which I still haven't watched a single ep, Gundam Wing, and a manhwa I've never heard of. This BB is overwhelmingly live-action. Meh.)
I'm leaning towards a classic fandom. If I had a bigger gallery or actual webcomic pages up, I'd aim for a currently popular fandom, but better to go with a classic this time. With that in mind...
I'm visiting various authors' LJs and their fanfiction archive accounts, looking for writers whose style and plots I like. Last year I went into both my BBs blind, and while I lucked out with talented authors then, this year I'm doing some preliminary research.
Yes, I am taking this very seriously. Fanart is great for traffic, you know! My Journey Big Bang pic from last year, the Sleeping Beauty/Last Unicorn crossover, is my most popular pic on DA. Heh. Gotta find another good one for my Big Bang #3!
