My Yuletide 2012 fic!
I would like to invite all of you to read my contribution to Yuletide 2012 Small Fandom Fic Exchange!
I was matched on the YA prose novel turned manga turned anime, Ghost Hunt. I discovered GH when Shoujo Editor 1 sent me a free copy of the first manga volume, way back in 2005. SE1 often sent me random freebies, and this was one of them. Ghost hunting and ghost stories are a hobby of mine (seriously, if you ever need to find me a souvenir, just grab a book of local ghost stories and I'm good! :D), and I immediately fell in love. Since then, Del Rey has released 11 volumes of the 12 volume series, and in 2007, an anime was made of the first 9 volumes. There is a 12th volume, but it will probably never be released in NAbecause Kodansha is the license holder, and all that implies. *sigh*
The prompt from my recipient was broad and easy. She wanted gen fic with four of the main cast! That, I could do. Apparently she asks for this same basic promopt every Yuletide, and I poked around her previous GH gifts to see what she's received in previous years. I reviewed canon--taking copious notes--and latched onto the quiet, mysterious Lin as my POV character. And the result was a success! My recipient enjoyed it, I've earned more hits, kudos, and comments than last year, and it's been popular at FF.net and Luna as well! Yay!!!
