Ask and ye shall receive...
The subject will become self explanatory in a minute, but first, an update:
1. Grandmother was a false alarm, she was only tired from Easter Weekend fun.
2. Mac feels better again. His legs are bleeding and his hair is falling out in places b/c his skin is very dry and he's scratching on everything that will hold still, in addition to using his teeth to scratch his aforementioned legs. X_x I'll probably end up bathing him, covering him in gallons of hand lotion (do you have any idea how much surface area is on a full-sized horse???) and then mixing cornseed oil into his grain every day. Yummy. I'm not sure when I'll find the time to do this, however, b/c....
3. Temp title editor gave me the extension. I'm amazed. X_x I expressed to him how much I wanted to work on the book...maybe that was a factor. In any case, Temp title 25 is still mine. Yay! I really did want to letter this volume. Its importance to the series will become obvious once I can finally reveal the title. Which will definitely be before 2008. X_x At least New title can be revealed in another couple of months. I admit I'm a bit leery of the fallout that will happen as a result. *cue ominous music*
4. I found a surprise in my Junk Mail folder today: script for Claymore volume 10! And it had been sent Monday! Wheee! Thank you, hotmail, for costing me two days' worth of lettering. Claymore editor #3's email is now on my contacts list to prevent this from happening again. And for future reference, Clay editor now equals the new Clay editor #3. The previous two editors will be referred to with their respective numbers.
did have a huge smile on my face when I opened the script for Clay v10 and saw that the Awakened Being font is BACK!!! YAY!!!! Clay editor #2 never used it, so I tried to use it where I knew it belonged, but I kept getting vetoed, so I gave up. Thus vols 7 and 8 of Clay have greatly reduced amounts of the Awakened Being font, and vol 9 has none at all. *grumble* But it's back now, so yay again! New Clay editor banzai!!!
Of course, this now means I have four simultaneous titles to letter again, and somehow they ended up all being difficult ones. X_x I admit, I was feeling the stress when I found Clay v10's script and was sent the rather extensive corrections for the 2nd half of New title within minutes of each other. But I went outside to run and realized that this isn't nearly as bad as it was in Jan and Feb, when I had SIX simultaneous titles. Remember Nana and the English added to the mix??
I really am glad to have Clay again. Not only for the peace of mind (I haven't been replaced!!!!!) but b/c my day isn't complete until I've slain some yoma and "biki"ed at least once. Heh. ^^ *hugs for Clare and Raki and Jean and Ilena*
One of my nightly rituals is to check the statistics for my two fanfics up on the Pit. (Luna doesn't keep track of hits.) I keep a running tally for my own amusement. Things were fun when DaaGB part 3 went up, but for the past week or so they've reverted to really slow. Until two days ago, when I noticed At the End of Climbing Trees, my Sasuke/Naruto oneshot, jumped up two hits. Sweet! It had been over a week since anyone had clicked on it. And then yesterday, two more hits!! Oooh!!! Maybe someone recced my fic to their friends. ^^V Alas, no new reviews (still only the 2) and no alerts or favorites marks whatsoever.
Today I received a notice from Luna saying DaaGB had received a new review. Sweet again! Since I was there anyway, I visited Luna's stats section and noticed--oho!! A new favorite for DaaGB, and one for AtEoCT at last!!!! Yay!!!! This makes me happy for obvious reasons, but mostly b/c as a oneshot, someone would really really have to like it to want to mark it as a favorite. No sequels to watch for, right?? And since it's a "genfic", or non-romance non-smut non-whathaveyou, it really makes a favorite special. *is thrilled*
Yesterday I bought my subscription through CDJapan to Hana to Yume, the Japanese manga magazine that publishes Skip Beat. My first issue is marked to be May 5th. Since I chose SAL shipping over airmail ($20 an issue for airmail delivery...) my first issue will probably not arrive until the end of May. Ah well, I have plenty to do in the meantime. I bought the shortest subscription they offered, which is 3 months. HtY is published twice a month, so six issues for just under $70. I'll have to decide if the $12 or so an issue is worth the content!! We'll see. ^^
