30 Day Fanfiction Meme, day 28!
28 – Have you ever collaborated with anyone else, whether writing together, or having an artist work on a piece about your fic?
My fanfic sempai,
stariceling, and I sort of collaborated. My fic "It's All an Act, You Know" was sparked after I read a fic she wrote. I chimed in with a second chapter, and she wrote a third and fourth. I ended up taking my fic into my own direction, each chapter being a gift for her. ^^
I've never formally collaborated with anyone. I think it would be a fun thing to try. I'd be willing to write with any of the authors I know IRL or through fandom. You all seem like level-headed types who can take and give input and criticism. I'm pretty sure none of you are crazy axe-murderers, at least! And I'd be THRILLED if one of my favorite authors asked me to work with them. OMGYAY! (A couple weeks back, Star-chan and I had some fun figuring out the ultimate fic-writing team. The final result was: plot by Vathara, characterization by us, actual writing by GreenGecko. We wants it......) X3
As previously mentioned, I've been the artist for three Big Bangs. I still would like to try a Reverse Big Bang, but as also previously mentioned I find out about those too late or in the wrong fandom.
Going waaaaay back to my zine days, that model-horses-come-to-life story had a couple chapters illustrated by someone else. I'd been doing my own pics, but decided to ask for help. Chapter 1 and the final chapter....6? 7? Were illustrated by others. I also wrote a hard-copy round robin that had some illustrations supplied by another author. Ahh...memories! (And yes, the hard-copy round robin was also about horses. This should not surprise my long-time readers in the slightest. *points to Ghost Hunt fic* It's never going away, either!!!)
I suppose Yuletide is a sort of collaboration, as you're writing a fic tailored to your recipient's request of fandom, characters, and usually a basic topic or type of fic. I never would have written either of my Yuletide fics outside of the challenge. And OMG I am SO looking forward to Yuletide this year!! *chair dance of excitement*
