Chikushouuuuuuuu!
I have proved once again that celebrating something before it happens is a sure way to ruin it completely. If you remember this post, She's baaaack!!, where I was cheering in unabashed joy at finishing Clay v10 and finally having some spare time to do non-work things (like seeing Pirates 3!!!) and when I apparently completely terrified the lot of you. Is hyper s2m really that frightening?? D= then you can imagine what happened.
Oh yes. Friday I received an email from Naruto editor asking me to have all of vol 25 finished by Tuesday morning. I had 35 pages left. My deadline before this? June 1st. So I lost three days of work time for Naruto. Which doesn't sound too bad, until you factor in that I schedule 6 pages a day for this series. So I had to cram in 18 extra pages in addition to my usual Naruto work load. Ha! Luckily I only had 5 orange or pink pages left. I lettered only Naruto all day Friday and Saturday, gave many thanks to the manga gods that I had wisely finished almost all those difficult pages before this happened, and finished the volume early this (Sun) morning. 36 pages in two days. Wheeeee!! O_o
So yay, Naruto vol 25 is out of the way. Until corrections, of course. I'm also waiting for corrections for all of Clay vol10 which makes me nervous since this will be my first round with Clay editor #3, and I don't know how nitpicky she will be in regards to FX. And New title vol 2 2nd half corrections as well...and New title corrections are always bad since Viz is being incredibly nitpicky with the title.
$10 says they all arrive within 24 hours of each other. Just watch!! You know they will!!! *very apprehensive*
But the fun conclusion to this Naruto-themed adventure is that I can't "completely" finish vol 25 b/c the file Viz was sent from Japan for page 109 is a blank white page. And page 109 is not supposed to be blank! We have to wait until someone in Japan re-sends this specific page, which can take weeks. Odds are I won't letter the page at all b/c of time constraints, so someone in the Viz office will have to do it, and I'll have to share the touchup and lettering credits with them. :P~~~~~~~~~~~~
