*a single hand reaches out from the darkness*
I haven't been very chatty lately, not here or in comments or emails. You guys know by now that this means I'm inundated with work. Script for New Title 2 pages 19-56--the remainder of the first chapter--arrived a few days ago, so I'm back to lettering 16 pages a day. Thankfully I don't have to touch Nana for a while b/c of a far-distant deadline, and Naruto b/c I worked so hard before New Title 2 hit...but the knowledge that Clay 12 will descend in about a month (assuming the translator isn't late *cough cough*) keeps me working on them both. Nana has no end in sight (I already have script through vol 15), but Naruto will be over once I finish the last page of this volume.
Thus far, the trial results for my new work schedule arrangement has been on the negative side. While it's nice to wake up to half of the day's quota being already finished, I don't have the mental and emotional rest of finishing the quota and knowing the remainder of the day (or night, in my case) is free for my own use. If I finish the day's quota early like this, I have only until midnight to relax until the crunch starts over again. And while on the former days-broken-by-sleep schedule didn't give me much spare time either, at least I could go to sleep knowing that day's quota was finished. That peace of mind outweighs waking up the next morning to see half the quota is done. So I think I'll go back to days-determined-by-sleep, only I'll work a day ahead. So when I wake up at 1 PM on the 20th and get to work, I'll be doing pages for the 21st. Thus when midnight arrives, I'll be completing that day's quota. This gives me more reassurance when I'm dealing with tight deadlines. But unfortunately, when I pull this switch I'll lose a day's worth of time. And I don't have that much buffer with New Title 2--part of my stress is only 2 pages of buffer--so I'll have to do overtime and catch up with that one.
Changing subjects, it's interesting that when you hear dieting sob stories, one thing almost never crops up (at least in my experience.) Oh yeah. you hear about burning hunger and cravings, but you never seem to hear about fatigue. That's my problem. I'm on the wagon once again, only not quite so much this time. I'm keeping it down to around 1400 calories a day, which no one can complain about, and which does seem to suit me better than the 1200 or so I've done before. (And when I dropped my original 35 pounds two years ago, I was doing 1000 to 1100 a day. But I had a great deal less leg muscle then.) So I'm taking lots of naps, spacing out my beloved tea and oh-so-lovely energy pills, and sticking it out. This is day 4. The scale said 141 pounds this morning, so yay. (I'm 5 foot 7, remember. NOT a stick, but far from a 5 foot 7 *insert your favorite fit and lovely without being sickly-looking actress here.* Like Keira Knightley. And she kissed Mr. Depp and Mr. Bloom. In the same movie. Nuffair.)
What really sucks about the stress and lethargy is that I can't be appreciative of my luck. Remember that fanfic contest I talk about from time to time, the one for Tantei Gakuen Q? I won. ^^V This contest offered actual prizes for the winners, so I asked for Japanese manga, with the holes in my Sailormoon collection at the top of the list. I hope the contest holders will be able to find some for me. It will be nice to have the entire series. The winning fics are supposed to be posted to the
tanteigakuenqlj comm at some point. *checks* Nope, not yet.
It will be good to finally be able to post my winning fic, Forgetting, Flirting, and a Frash Raive, to the Pit and Luna. I finished it back in May, but couldn't share it until the contest was over. Except I think I'd like to post another part of DaaGB before I toss yet another new fic up on the sites. I owe it to the 11 people who have DaaGB on alerts or favorites between both sites. Speaking of DaaGB, I haven't made much progress. Stupid stress and fatigue.
But hey, I finished watching the Claymore anime (toss the manga out the window after ep 20) and Love Com (the anime's fun, but the manga is far superior). I'll finish Yamato Nadeshiko/Wallflower in a day or two, then can finish Harukana (holy Bishounen glory, Batman!) next. I also downloaded all of Rose of Versailles some time ago, as well as a recent anime that every fan in NA has seen but me, and I'm working on Tokyo Mew Mew and Saiunokoku (holy Bishounen glory 2, Batman!) And we can't forget the ongoing saga of Naruto Shippuuden. Whose newest ep should be out by now. Heeeeeeee. Lovely Shippuuden boys to keep my spirits up....And on that inspiring thought, I shall depart. *pads away to check for more Gaara-sama*
