Okay, I'm back. ^^
First up, thanks to everyone who voted in my previous post's poll. If any of you have not yet done so, please vote soon! I am honestly interested in your feedback. ^^
A few big things happened while I was staying away from LJ.
First up, I finished Naruto vol 32! XD All that's left are a few rounds of corrections, and then my Naruto lettering will be over until my fifth volume, which is scheduled for late summer '08. Of course, the chance exists that Naruto editor might surprise me with a request to cover another volume, like he did with 32, but who knows if I'll be able to take a 6th one. I'd love to, but it all comes down to the daily page quota!
Second, Claymore news! I should be getting the script on time *gasp*, which means I have about a week before it's time to start slaying more yoma. Heh. Thankfully this vol, 12, is a bit less action-filled than usual. Of course, I always think pages are easier when I'm judging difficulty than when I actually begin to letter them. But still, definitely less fight scenes. Yay to dialogue-heavy chapters!! *tears of joy*
Third, more Clay news! Last I heard, it wasn't very likely we'd be working on volume 13 before the end of '08. That has changed! So I will be having some yoma fun next year. Wheee!
Fourth, the third batch of script for New Title 2 has arrived. When I finish this segment, I'll be over half-way done with the volume. Yay! I'm enjoying the story so far, but I'm glad it's a one-shot. You see, New Title 2 will be overlapping with Clay 12 for the remainder of the volume, and that will make life interesting. So interesting I might have to vanish from LJ again. We'll see how it goes. :P
Fifth, finishing up Naruto 32 and the 2nd batch of New Title 2 last week gave me about four days with nothing but my shoujo staples of Honey, Nana, and Skip. I used my sudden stretch of spare time to accomplish fandom things! I never heard back from either of my Claymore fic betas, so I beta-ed the 2nd half of Maturation's Matriculation myself and then posted it. I'd much rather have had feedback from someone else on the story, but it had been over a month since I read it, thus I was able to look at my writing with fresh eyes. I've earned a 2nd review on The Pit. ^^ In a couple of days, this story will probably surpass DaaGB for total number of hits! Here's the links, if anyone wants to read, the fic is now complete at 6,754 words. Pit: MM Luna: MM My first finished multi-chaptered fic! XD
Sixth, I also used my spare time to take a couple of stabs at chapter 5 of DaaGB. I muddled around for a bit, wrote a total of around 1700 words, and realized I needed to do some serious thinking before I spent any more time on it. Today during my exercise session, I took my clipboard, paper, and pen outside. I debating things while I jogged, and scribbled the ideas down while I walked. I feel much more confident about part 5 now. ^^V All the pieces were there, I just had to organize them and figure out what needs to go where. Yay! I'm not sure if DaaGB will end with part 5 or not. My DaaGB chapters are about 2,000 words long each, so if I find a good splitting place around there with that much more to go, then I'll move the remainder to part 6. Regardless of if it does end up being a 6-parter, I will completely write the fic before I post part 5. I'm really eager to finish DaaGB. XD
