A moment of randomness once again involving music.

I don't pay too much attention to the lyrics in music because I've been listening to mostly jrock for so long. It's a bit of a shock for me to listen to music in English, b/c I realize I can understand what they're saying, rather than just catching the odd word and occasional sentence. Last night I was finally burned out of my PotC 3 CD (been listening to it straight for over a week) and I felt like some rock. So I grabbed the lovely compiliation CD Kiokonai made me of her personal AFI (that's the band's name) song favorites. I adore every song on this CD, even the ones where the singer screams his lungs out (literally). My favorite has always been 35 mm.

However...I was happily listening to the CD on loop while I worked, and I'm not sure why, but I suddenly paid attention to the lyrics of one song that I rather liked the sound of, called Love Like Winter. This is the most important bit of what I heard, and what make me snap awake:

The thing is: this song is sung by a man. My reaction:

I went into throes of ecstacy, and my love for this band redoubled for having the awesome nerve to write a song like this. I HAD to look up the lryics, so at my first opportunity I did. And....T.T I heard wrong. Here's the REAL version:

*wilts* So it isn't vampire slash. In fact, I'm not sure what this song is about. Like my other beloved AFI song, 35mm, the lyrics are pretty, but I have no idea what they mean. T.T Ttaku mo!! *sulks* >< I guess I can't complain too much, though, since the adrenalin rush of ecstatic delight helped me finish my quota AND 1.5 sample pages of New Title 3. But still....It was difficult to let go of images of Zero/Kaname, Hassan/Murphy/Clyde and of course Lestat/the entire male cast of the Vampire Chronicles. I want my vampire slash...
