Fannish squeeings yay...*faint*
For some reason, I'm a zombie today. I did letter several extra pages yesterday, burned lots of adrenalin when I was swept up in a great new (for me) Potter fic, and ended up very very woozy when I was a couple hours late eating...I guess all those lttle straws added up to zombie!s2m. Okay....I'm staying awake long enough to type this post though. :P
Day before yesterday, my wonderful friend Twilaa-chan returned the fifth chapter of my Gaara/FOC WIP fanfic to me. I finished writing it back in December but my poor beta never could work on it. Thankfully a couple months ago Twilaa-chan offered to beta instead (once her finals were over, of course) so I took her up on it, and now DaaGB 5 is up at last!!! T.T Five new reviews, three new story alerts, two new story favorites. Kyaaa!! I'm very pleasedi. ^^V Being a "romance"(?) of sorts between a popular canon man and a FOC, it isn't a very popular genre, so to see people enjoying my story is delightful. All but one of the reviews were "LOL this is gr8 update soon" but I'll take what I can get. That one exception was a lovely intelligent thoughtful review that I must do justice to when I reply. She said my fic was really unique and different. XD Hope she likes the eventual ending. I half-expected to be flamed for what happens in part 5, but nope!
Interestingly, DaaGB is read more often on Luna than at the Pit, even though the pit is 10,000 times larger. Or b/c, I suspect. And part 4 has had just as many total hits on both sites as part 3. This is curious b/c readership is cut in half for each sequential chapter. If Part one is read by 100 people, 50 will go on to part 2, 25 will go on to part 3, 12 to part four, etc. But 4 was holding steady with part 3. I find this very amusing, since it is no doubt due to 4's content. *cough cough* People must have come back for rereadings. *grins with a blush* We'll see how part 5 fares. XD
You would not believe the massive backlog I've gathered of downloaded anime to watch. D: During Work Hell I pretty much stopped watching everything, though I kept downloading Naruto Shippuuden. I also decided to pick up Bleach at the start of the Arrancar Arc, which Wiki told me was ep 110. I began downloading from there, and also working backwards from the most recent ep, and downloading the newest eps too. In April we saw the start of the new anime season in Japan, so I've been downloading Vampire Knight and Special A, both of whose manga I love. The new show "Itazura na Kiss" is based on a modern classic shoujo manga, so I've been downloading that one based on the good things I've heard, even though I have no idea what it's about and never read the manga. Kyou Kara Maou's third TV season ALSO began this spring, so add that to the queue. And finally the short for-kids series Chii's Sweet Home, which is completely awesome and so cute it should be illegal. The final for downloads each week is:
1. Naruto Shippuden
2. Bleach one old ep--I'm in the late 120s now
3. Bleach newest ep--176-177 two-parter
4. Bleach older newest ep (working backwards)--I'm in the low 160s
5. KKM third season
6. Special A
7. Vampire Knight
8. Chii's Sweet Home. Since this is one of those 3-minutes-an-ep series I'm not sure how often it airs, but I add a new batch download every couple of weeks, so :P
9. Itazura na Kiss
That's a lot of anime. ^^;;;; Now, here's what I've actually been watching:
Chii's Sweet Home (ZOMG so cuuuuuute!!! And short!)
Two eps so far of VK
....Naruto filler eps.
Yes, Naruto filler eps. A year ago(!) by the dates on my downloads, I went through the Wiki episode summary list and downloaded any and all filler eps that either sounded interesting or contained Lee-kun or Gaara-sama. My total was around 25 eps, I think. I'd watched a couple of them right after I downloaded, but then I was swept up in Shippuuden and didn't want to watchthe 12 year old boys version. But when Work Hell lessened enough for me to resume my anime enjoyment, I decided I should finish the filler eps before I dived back into Shippudden, so here we are. All I have left now is that final filler arc about Gaara-sama's kidnapped student.
You know, some of those filler eps are really good. The bounty hunter one starts off rather meh, but finishes well. And the one about the bandit who loses his memory made me tear up at the end. U.U Once I finish the Gaara-sama arc, I have to decide if I need to watch the 2nd and 3rd Naruto movies before Shippuuden. Not to mention the Shippuuden movie, too. ^^;;
So I'm behind watching Shippuuden by 11 eps, since the last one I watched was 52, and the most recent ep was ep 63. If tomorrow's ep is new, I'll be behind by 12. I barely remember what was going on in ep 52...er...that's right, Sasuke just jossed my doujinshi. So the new Team Kakashi was facing off against him for the first time. Wow...by now the anime might be in the middle of my vol 35's content! Or past it even, depending on how much padding the studio added. My my my....
But those are just the titles I'm currently downloading. Stuff I downloaded months ago and have left to watch are:
1. Saiunoku no Monogatari, both seasons, so to ep 39
2. FMA, the whole shebang of 51 eps
3. Tokyo Mew Mew, the whole shebang of 52 eps
4. my beloved Violinist of Hameln (remember the fangasm post?) so 25 eps and the movie
5. KKM 5 ep OAV series. The killer is that I barely remembered how the 2nd tv series ended, so I need to go back and rewatch the last few eps so I can remember. :P I have to watch this before starting the new season
6. Several random first eps of shows that I heard good things about.
Nnnng. At least Rose of Versailles is no longer on there. O.o
I try to watch at least one ep a day, though I missed yesterday b/c I was caught up in that great Potter fic. I don't have to watch the VK eps all in a row, since I'm reading the manga and already know what's going to happen. That's why I've watched the first two so far. I needed a break from Naruto filler. And wanted somethingwith bishounen more substantial than Chii.
I'm starting to ramble, so I'd better run. Hey, if any of you actually read this whole post, LMK. I'm curious. Skimming doesn't count!!!
Maybe I can stay awake long enough to watch a Naruto filler ep. Gaara-sama!!!! :3
