How about a shigoto update?
So....regarding my schedule...things are bad. There's no other way to say it. T.T I took a couple half-days off for my dad's birthday, then had four days in a row of feeling like crap (not related to the bday) and barely being able to do anything in the face of my 18 pages a day quota. I had to shift into almost critical mode, which means focusing on the book with the nearest deadline and clearing the backlog for that one first, then move on to the next title. (Critical critical mode would be not printing ANYTHING. But at the moment, I'm only not printing Clay and the odd page from my shoujo stuff that I don't for see needing as reference.)
Captive - I'm about 20 pages away from the end of vol 2. This was the 2nd series I scrambled to catch up on, though in deference to its difficulty I never let myself get too far behind. I should finish right on schedule. I'm actually saving the last Pink page for the very end, so I can spend all day on it without having to worry about the other pages of Captive's quota. The first chapter preview will be in October's Shojo Beat issue. ^^ Vol 1 will be out on Nov 4th.
Claymore - O.o I'm so far behind I don't want to think about it. I'm gentling the behind as much as I can, in that I do at least one difficult page a day (Pink, Orange, or Orange dot) and am thus saving the Yellow, Green, and Blue for the mad dash I will likely face to finish at the end. My new FX letters are progressing nicely, so that's helping things go faster. This title will be the next one to catch up on, even though it has the most distant deadline. The deadline is for the whole book instead of half, and Clay is always a challenge, so there you go. :P This is vol 14, BTW. Vol 13 will be out Nov 4th.
Honey - Far behind on this one, too. It isn't as bad as Clay and has a deadline in October for the remaining 2nd half, so I'm not freaking out just yet. Thankfully vol 9 here is rather short at only 175 pages. I'm a bit over half-way through the book. Vol 3 comes out Sept 2nd.
Nana - See the above two first sentences. --;;; As with Clay, I'm trying to lessen the blow with difficult pages first, so let us cross our fingers. I'm about a third of the way into the 2nd half. I'm still on vol 15, of course. The Nana schedule will resume to being 8 weeks per book come vol 16, I believe. Thank the manga no kami Nana is relatively easy. Nana vol 12 comes out Sept 2nd.
Skip - I finished vol 17 yesterday, and am now waiting for corrections on the 2nd half. This was the title with the closest deadline, thus the one I scrambled to catch up on. I'll start prelettering vol 18 tomorrow, and begin lettering on Fri. Likely I'll do one difficult page a day, at least until Captive is finished. Vol 18 is very squee-worthy, and does indeed contain the first few chapters that I read in my Hana to Yume sub last year. I love the cover of this one. XD I must say nothing for fear of spoiler!! Skip 14 comes out Sept 2nd as well. This is the vol where we meet The New Villain I've been commenting about for many months. You know, the creepy one who grew on me. :3
Wanted - The book will finally be out on Sept 2nd. Then you'll see why the preview was so short. :P My freebie copies never came... U.U ETA: but they'll be here soon. Yay!! \O/
That's it for now. Work calls, as always. I have two weeks off on each title (everything but Captive 2, which is due next week) so I should make all my deadlines. It might be interesting and I'm sure I'll be working half the day and packing the other half, but I'm not panicking yet. "Yet" being the key word, of course.
Guh. I'd better run...
