I really need to buy a new tower. Or have Utena's shell given new innards. X| Nothing against Usagi here, but I miss my lovely widescreen 21 inch monitor, which has been turned off ever since Utena's death.
But mostly b/c I can't burn backup DVDs until I have that new tower. You see, I couldn't save my lastest completed page of Skip 19 because poor Tsukushi's (work computer) 2nd hard drive only had 15 little megs of free space. I've been playing the delete everything possible game for a few weeks, but today I'm out of expendable files like finished tiffs and whatnot. I have to delete Photoshopped files of my precious lettered pages. T.T without having backed them up to DVD first. (And it doesn't help that the file prep company adds extra white space around the edges of pages and several extra layers and paths, which adds an extra 5 to 10 megs of file size on every new page I letter. THANKS, GUYS. *raspberries*)
The pages won't be gone forever, since they are backed up on Clare, who is my first external hard drive. (So named b/c she's sturdy and silver.) So I still have the files, I just don't have them on Clare AND on DVD. *wibbles* Yes, I'm paranoid.
I guess first on the sacrificial platter will be Wanted, aka the Pirate Manga by Hino-sensei. It's been done for a year, the files are quite large, and it's a one-shot so I won't need pages for flashback purposes. And I need the 2.5 gigs of space. T.T
Next up will be...Naruto, I think. The pages are huge, my early volumes have been done for a year and a half, and I've never burned any backup Naruto DVDs (unlike Clay, Nana, and Skip) so I won't be breaking my pattern. T.T Sorry, Naruto-kuuuun! The proto chapter and vol 21 together will give me 2.89 gigs of space.
I wonder if the local guy who worked on Utena for me can give her a 2nd life. The thing is, I DO NOT WANT Vista. No how, no way. Is it still possible to buy XP?? I like XP. XP and I get along. T.T Maybe I can buy an external blue-ray/HD disc burner. Then burned backup discs would go really far, and I could read them on any of my three (once Utena is resurrected or I buy a new tower) comps!
*wonders how much new guts for Utena woud cost* I'm broke and have no money, after all. Nnnrgh. Maybe my parents will surprise me with computer parts goodness for Giftmas?? Maybe?? Meh. *gazes mournfully at Utena's empty shell, which she still has* Poor Utena....
