Ah well....

L-chan, my friend from back home in TX, tried to visit me for a 2nd time this weekend, and was stymied by flight problems again. Such is the fate of those who fly standby. *sigh* We're going to try again between Thanksgiving and Giftmas, so I sincerely hope the third time is the charm.

I gave myself three days off of work for her visit, but I can't just sit in my apartment alone and not work. X| I don't have to meet the daily quota this weekend, thus I plan to focus on Pink pages. I actually just finished my 2nd one. Clay 16 has a lot of dialogue-only pages, yes, but the action pages it DOES have are unusually nasty. D= Five or six FX on a page is common in this vol. *sigh* Ah well. This is why Viz keeps me around, right??

I was extremely tired when I woke this morning, so I went back to bed for an extra two hours, worked for about 45 min, then crashed again for another hour. When I woke that time, I felt extremely rested! I've been wanting to take a day off and do nothing but sleep and read and work a little b/c the guilt will weigh me down if I don't, and now I have. Sort of. I've spent more time working than sleeping, and only read during my food breaks, but you get the idea. ^^ I really needed those extra hours of sleep! Spicer-kitty joined me for both nap sessions. X3 I love napping with my kitty! It's so warm and cozy!

Oh yes, and I am incredibly grateful for the day I decided to attend the local sci-fi/fantasy book club back in March! Every meeting is fun, particularly this month's. I was afraid I'd be the only one who loathed this months' book, The Book of the Dun Cow, but no! Just about everyone hated it!!! XD And the one who didn't hate it merely thought it was all right. HA! It's terribly fun to rip a book apart (metaphorically, with debate) when you have company who feel as strongly about it as you do!! And to think I almost didn't attend this month b/c I was tired!! I would have totally missed out. ^^V I've also figured out I can take the train to the meeting, though it will require some serious walking. Inclement weather will not keep me away, should it blizzard again this winter!!

I've also been working on the character designs for my manga short story, starring Roland. Remember that one? I've (mostly) finished Bond the cat's design, though I keep going back to tweak it. At the moment, I'm working on pics of Roland and Bond together, since Bond is a very large cat and I need to become used to drawing him next to Roland. Hmmm.

On a final note: 1/ 2 an English muffin spread with low-fat cream cheese and marmalade is the nectar of the gods! Sheer ambrosia! My own personal cheesecake. :9 OM NOM NOM!
