And she'll have fun fun fun until Claymore takes her free time away~~~!
Clay Editor 4 told me she's tweaking the script for Claymore vol 20 now, and that means it could arrive any day. When it does, my spare time will go flying out the window, as always! So this week, I've been doing as many fun things as I can, while I can enjoy them mostly guilt-free.
On Monday, I went bowling and then out for pizza with my lovely IRL friends knastymike, neekaneeks, and mcruthless. We all sucked at bowling, but who cares because it was FUN! XD We played two rounds, and I'm very glad we stopped at two b/c OMG I was SO SORE the next day. O.o The pizza and appetizers we had afterward were all very tasty! :9 I ordered this pommegranite/ginger ale drink that was also delicious. :9
Tuesday was Book Club, and it being October we had a choice of two zombie books. I chose the serious one, World War Z by Max Brooks. It was a good read, but I doubt I'll read it again. My fave chapter was the one about the Chinese submarine that goes AWOL with all the families of the sailors along and hides in the oceans from the zombie apocalypse. At the end of the book, I wanted to know one thing: why didn't the author interview more women? Out of 30 or so different characters, only 4 were women. FOUR. And two were crazy. WTH? *grumbles* No one at the club had any plausible explanations why the book was so biased, either. :P on Mr. Brooks! He fails at equal representation! The meeting was smaller than ussual, with 17 people. That was surprising.
Today, Thursday, I spontaneously decided to go see a movie. And what do you know--the Lion Kind in 3D is still playing at my theater! That is my all-time undefeated favorite movie, and I do mean it. I saw it 6 times in theaters back in 1994. When I went to the off-Broadway musical with my family, it was so beautiful that I cried through the entire production. Today I cried again through the entire opening sequence, and choked up or had chills during all my favorite scenes. I was 17 when the film first premiered in theaters, I've watched it a hundred times on VHS, LD, and DVD, and it STILL gets to me 16 years later. Seeing Simba and Scar on the big screen with surround-sound was incredible. It didn't even need the 3D effect. That movie is timeless. (I also am delighted that seeing it again inspired two new bunnies for the Lion King fanfic I've been messing with here and there for the past 3 years or so. I made sure to scribble them down so I don't forget!) :D
And to top off my week, tomorrow I plan to combine both exercise AND fun by walking back to the theater and seeing Reel Steal. I am unashamed to admit I am only going to see that film for Hugh Jackman. No regrets!!! I hope he has lots of shirtless scenes. X3 Pardon me while I giggle into my popcorn. But hey, whoever wrote up the review for The New York Times said they enjoyed the movie despite themselves, so it just might have an okay plot and characterization to go along with the eye candy! Wouldn't that be nice? Perhaps I shall have cake instead. ^^V
Now I shall read for a few minutes, then head out the door to take Kakashi to the vet for the rest of his vaccinations. Then home again and time to get to work. Ja!
