Hello, Tumblr! And other things.
I've long been watching the exodus of my flist's fellow artists to Tumblr, and after mcruthless kindly introduced me to how it works the last time I visited her IRL, I felt more kindly toward it. It IS the place to be, now! And given my networking skills in person are rather pathetic, I should do what I can online. So!
Hello, Tumblr! I have yet to do anything with it beside sign up and follow two good friends, but I will soon. I also decided to sign up under my real name, as it's time to start being more professional. Kind of. (The variations of my first name and initials were all taken, and "sheep" has unfortunate connotations. Hi world, here's my full name!) :P~~
For the record, this isn't only because of LJ's unfortunate choice in re-design. I've been meaning to claim my tumblr for a while, the re-design just goosed me to finally do it. I'm still going to post and read LJ. I've made too many wonderful friends, online and IRL, to give LJ up.
Looks like I've finally worn out Usagi's (my laptop) disc burner. It can still read fine so far *knocks on wood*, but it threw four frisbees today. Thankfully CD frisbees, but still. The final one was AFTER I did a google search for the error code and followed the instructions--I had to mess with my registry, guys. Wooo, look at me!! I even made a restore point ALL ON MY LONESOME! Not that it did much good, b/c the fourth frisbee earned the same error code as before. Not much point in replacing the drive, given Usagi's age and that...
Thankfully I have Shetan (tower and work computer), and he was able to finish the burning task. I bought Nero for him a few months back anyway, so I could burn blu-ray. Might as well get my money's worth!
One of my two fan commitments this holiday season is done! I turned in my Yuletide fic on Tuesday. Mine was the 682nd to go up. ^^V That leaves my pic for the Journey Big Bang. Gotta start working on it every day again!
Work on New Title 8 has been chugging along. I know just enough InDesign now to letter the pages. I was stymied last night on how to white stroke around type and put that page on hold until this morning, when I googled for help and found it. On an actual Adobe help page, of all places. Usually those do no good for me at all. Heh!
Not sure what I'm going to do for Giftmas. I'm still wrapping and making presents (witness the frisbees) but it's under control. Late, but under control. I'll try to make it to the post office tomorrow. No plans for the 25th, though I'll probably repeat last year and buy some takeout on the 24th for delicious nommings the next day. :3 Perhaps Old Chicago pizza? Since I can eat wheat, just not much and best to keep it every other day.
Now I want noodles. Hmmm.
Back to work for me. One more difficult page to finish today, then I can switch to the easier ones. Yay! Though New Title 8 is thankfully simple when compared to Clay, Skip, and Natsume. ^^V
