Yuletide is in the air, and it's almost done!
The third write-in yesterday was a success! It was our smallest group so far, but that was kind of a good thing, since the place we went doesn't have as much space as our usual pub. I liked the joint! Though I shouldn't order the quinoa fiesta salad next time. Raw onions are NOT good for me. O.o
I wrote two paragraphs, which doesn't sound like much, but actually is pretty good for being surrounded by friends and conversation. We all did pretty good re: writing or brainstorming, I think. :3
queenie_mab treated us to a round of drinks, since she suggested the place.
winnett was missed!
A bit about the drive: as I was about to get in my car to leave, I noticed how low my left front tire was. I debated my options: put on a show for those getting gas at my station and arrive 20 minutes after I'd planned with dirty hands and full tires, or arrive when I wanted to having chanced getting a real flat and ruining one set of tire rims. HMMM. So yeah, I filled the tire up. I was stared at by those getting gas, as always happens. Could have been worse, at least I wasn't in heels and a dress!
And IMO, they seriously need to fix how east-bound highway 26 nears the river on the west side. There MUST be a better way! Now I remember why I try not to drive that route unless I have to.
Oh yeah. Came home, read, took a nice nap, then woke up determined to work on the Yuletide fic for the rest of the day. And did I come through!! I have a new record for most words written in one day: 4,674 words. BOO-YEAH! XD I stayed up until 3:30 AM working on it. At the end, I was shaking from working on pure adrenalin. (I turned off my alarm and slept until 11:30 this morning.) ^^
And now, my fic is just under 10k long. I'd estimated it would be around 8k, but apparently the characters decided to do their own thing and dragged me along for the ride. And I'm still not done. I have to write the conclusion, then add some details, consistency mentions, maybe another nod to canon, a couple more red herrings *cackles*, and otherwise finish it. Then read-through, spell check, read-through out loud (amazing how much I catch doing that), and send it off to the beta readers! Whew!
The end is in sight. C: Once it's in the betas' hands, I think I'm going to celebrate by making another candle. For it is fun and productive.
Now, back to the fic!!! YEAH! XD

Sorry to hear about the bread. :( I paid for my meal, too. Note to self: raw onions are bad. Yeek!
