Yeah Mom, I DO mean it. >
Many thanks to those who took my poll! ^^ It was fascinating to read your answers, and I even had a couple of surprises! I hope those of you who haven't done so yet will stop by and take the poll. Here's the link! And yes, I am paying attention to the results and will blog accordingly. ^^
To update everyone on things here, Naruto vol 29's script is here, early!
In regards to my upcoming trip to SanFran and Oregon, I've pretty much settled on the dates.
Wow, it's only 3:30 and I'm already finished with my quota. I have a good hour and a half left! But I have no desire to write at ALL. >< Perhaps I'll work on some art. We'll see how it goes. I need to get around to buying a CD of manga screen tones...I can't keep filching from manga pages forever. Not to mention how patchy my tone collection is as a result. :P
Okay, enough from me. And if anyone is still wondering, I chose this icon with my mother in mind. ><
EDIT: I corrected my spelling of "Kinokuniya", which Shoujo Editor #1 was kind enough to point out in email. Heh.

Whoa! Who knew it was possible???! I only have to do 3 pages a day to reach the deadline of August 29th, but I'm doing 4 a day instead. I still plan on taking that trip, so the more work I can finish now--especially before Claymore vol 11 descends--the better. D= My Shippuuden volume has already been in the anime, but as I've downloaded-but-not-watched the last 3 eps, I'm only seen the first half what I'm about ot letter (Kankuro's revival to Naruto facing Itachi). I'm very reluctant to watch more, since I'd rather read it first. Books are always better. So likely I will download eps, but save them for watching once the lettering is complete. ^^ So. *stern look to her fellow Naruto fans* No spoilers, please!

I need to call the airline, pick a hotel (I can stay at the Sir Francis Drake in San Fran for $450 a night. Wooooo!!), and other fun stuff. ^^ I've never flown alone without someone on the other end to pick me up from the airport, so this promises to be interesting. I'm hoping to find a shuttle to whatever hotel I end up at, and then I'll likely do a lot of walking and/or catch my first taxi. (I hope they work like they do in the movies.)
I'm really only going to SanFran to meet my Viz cronies in the flesh, so I need to find out when they will have time for me that Friday, then I can plan the rest of my day/evening around that. Must remember to email them. *nods* Aside from Viz, there are 3 places in San Fran I'd like to see: the Golden Gate (duh), the Winchester House (eeek!), and Kinokuniya. Yes, I'm a complete geek in that I consider the Kinokuniya store in SanFran to be a tourist attraction. :B You may laugh and macro accordingly.
This evening, I mentioned to my mom that I had pretty much decided on my trip window and told her the dates. She became very...quiet. *sighs* I told her I wanted to keep her informed about the whole "I'm moving!" process even though the idea makes her sad, and she said she wanted to know and be involved. Yet this is how she reacts to a simple scouting trip?! I'm coming back!! I'm going to look around, not stay up there forever! *grumbles* I guess this great "milestone" (if you can call it that, since I don't have plane tickets and I don't have hotel reservations) is forcing her to face reality. And for the record, it annoys me to NO END when she takes pot shots at me like jokingly saying "I hope the house repairs really fix the water problem so we don't have to worry about it any more. Not that it matters to you, s2m, since you'll be up in Oregon!! Ha ha ha ha!" *grits teeth*
Speaking of OR, I had an interesting little conversation on the childfree comm about good places in the state to live. ^^ Two kind OR locals filled me in on the main cities I asked about, which were Portland, Salem, Eugene, Corvalis, and Medford/Ashland. Salem was immediately vetoed by both as full of soccer moms and conservatives, so that's out. *punts Salem out the door* Eugene is apparently an old hippie town, so it's still an option, albeit a reduced one. Corvalis is "quiet", which I take it to also mean "conservative", so that's out the door too. *punts it as well* Medford/Ashland is the same, only it does have a nice music scene. Except I don't care for a music scene and your usual extremely-loud concerts and band halls, so that one is also greatly reduced. Which leaves me with Portland. Both women live in the city and say it's awesome, and Portland was my original desitnation anyway. Yay. ^^
