Kyaaa! DaaGB part 4!!! XD
Osu, minna!
This past weekend, Star-chan was able to give me her incredibly wonderful beta of chapter four of my Naruto fic, Distracting and a Great Bother. Last night I had the time and energy, so I polished the chapter with her notes, then posted it to both Luna and the Pit. Yes! It's up at last!! XD I then waited on pins and needles for someone to click on it, at either site. Both sides have pages for the newest fics, and both send out notices to those who've asked for them when a story they like has been updated. So I gnawed on my fingernails and waited, reloading my stats pages on both sites every few minutes. I was NOT going to sleep until someone clicked on my story! ><
I suppose that's enough fangirling for now, hmm? *wink*

Finally, about 45 minutes after I posted it, my Pit counter went up by one. I was sooo happy! \^^/ I was able to go to sleep knowing that someone, somewhere, thought my story sounded interesting enough to at least give it a try. Ah, the joy of a fangirl!!
And as of this blog writing--12 hours after I added Part 4--I've had 108 total new hits on my story at the Pit, and 23 of those are people who liked it enough to read all the way to part 4. (The benefits of a multi-chaptered fic: hits on later chapters are more likely to be someone actually reading it than hits on chapter one or two, when someone might try out the fic, not be interested, and then leave.) I even earned my 4th favorite on the Pit, and my 6th review! I quote "i like your story, but waiting for you chapters is a pain in the butt." Wooo! I have reader entitlementwith bad grammar!! XD I'm trying to decide how to reply. Snarky? Apologetic? Sarcastic? Realistic? Hmmm...
EDIT here's the reply I sent: I didn't want to be too snarky, since so few people read my fic anyway ("ewwww...yet another Gaara/OC..") "I'm glad you like my story enough to wait for the latest chapter. I will try my best to not let part 5 take as long as 4. But work comes before fanfic, alas!"
Meh.
My Luna stats aren't quite as fun, since it's such a a smaller site, but they're still exciting: 16 hits in the 12 hours since posting, 3 of them for part four. Alas, no new faves or reviews just yet, but hopefully I'll earn one or two. ^^
The only down side to finally posting Part 4 is that now I have to start thinking about Part 5. O.o
And I really really want to post the first chapter of my Clay fic!!! I have to wait a few more days before I can email the girl who I asked to beta it for me...it will have been two weeks tomorrow since I sent it to her....*twitch twitch twitch* I gave her an out by asking her to tell me if she didn't have time to beta b/c of school and work and everything, but she hasn't taken me up on it....*twitch twitch some more* I can be patient for a few more days...mmph. ><
