Fanfic will save me...
I've been feeling very blah and lethargic for the past few days...I'm not sure if it's stress from Honey being here, facing The Scene in Skip vol 13 that I've been dreading for 6 months (one page down, 5 to go), wondering when New Title2 will hit, and of course dealing with the loss of my last two horses.
When I'm like this, it's very difficult for me to work. So we get the first chapter of the ShinoHina fic, we get the change in my journal style, we get a very long manga review, and I stop writing my usual emails and comments b/c I don't feel worthy of responding to my friends. I hit the caffeine to keep me going, and I distract myself from the stress with anime or fanfic.
This round, it's fanfic. I've read more stories in the past four days than I usually do in a month. I was poking around a particular author's favorite stories list on the Pit when a summary caught my eye. I knew I had to read it. This sounded like the thing that could perk me up again! I've never read a fic like this. I've heard about them, seen many rants about them, but had never run across one so highly recced (as in listed on a Good Author's favorite's page) before. This one grabbed me. So I read it. I caved! I, slr2moons, have finally read....
Oh yes. Sasuke is pregnant in his great plan to continue his family line. None of the Konohagakure women were strong enough, or he knew none of them would make decent mothers, so he decided to just have the kid himself. The father is the only shinobi he felt was brave and worthy to contribute genes to the Uchiha line...Naruto. Who of course is clueless as to his role in The Plan. So far. (Sasuke seduced him using Sexy no Jutsu when Naruto was smashed from celebrating his 18th bday party.) And that's how Sasuke's pregnant, too. Sexy no Jutsu. *snickers* Naruto was scandalized when he realized Sasuke used the Sharingan to copy his original technique.
Thus far, it's absolutely hilarious. And I have 15 more chapters to look forward to!! XD With any luck, this fic will help me get back on track and feel like myself again. The only problem is I'd rather read than work...*looks at the fic with longing* Alas, work calls. *posts this and reluctantly returns her gaze to Tsukushi*
Edit Sat morning: It worked. Not only was I able to finish my quota, I made up the page I should have done on Thursday, and I was able to paint on my current bit of fanart. I also just woke up from some very odd Naruto-themed dreams. All hail the power of good fanfic! \ O /
