Derrieres and a Shigoto Update
My my my, here's a first. It took 12 volumes, but I finally had to draw a Claymore warrior's cute butt. This particular woman doesn't have the middle back panel on her armor skirt. And with those skintight leggings they wear, it means...butt cheeks. Yes, I made them shapely butt cheeks. All Claymores are fit, after all! I'm sure the male Clay fans (and the women who are so inclined ^^V) will be pleased with my efforts. *giggle*
Since I'm here anyway and it's been a while, how about a shigoto update??
The good thing about returning to the core 4 is that maybe, just maybe, this holiday season I can take it a little easy. I still have one piece of artwork to finish, and I really really hope to finish chapter 5 of DaaGB and have it up before the end of 2007. I've barely had the time or energy to touch non-work-stuff the past few weeks, so maybe now that New Title 2 is done, I can spend some time with my personal interests. *hopeful smile*
That's it for now, minna. Work calls!! I've been fighting half a cold for the past several days, and now have a rather despressingly large backlog as consequence. Woe again...
Since I'm here anyway and it's been a while, how about a shigoto update??
Clay - I'm a fourth of the way through volume 12. Not much to say here, except the 2nd chapter in this volume delivers a rather large surprise. =O I admit I had an "OMG!" moment when I lettered a certain line of text. :P This volume begins a new story arc of Clay, with a new set of characters. Including a new main character, it seems. Anyway, whenever her name appears I always hear it said In That Way by That One Famous Movie Villain. You'll understand once you read vol 12 for yourself. O.o
Honey - The first GN will be in stores around February or March. The January issue of Shojo Beat printed the final chapter of volume 1, which is why I know. So those of you who don't read the mag will finally be able to see my Honey on the shelf in the bookstore. I'd be happy if you flipped through it! ^^ Lettering-wise, I'm also 1/4th of the way into volume 6. The series is 10 books long, so I'm over halfway. My favorite character has shifted away from Yamada Ayu. No matter what great epiphanies she has, or what people tell her, she refuses to let go and mopes about it. So much that I no longer find it admirable, but annoying. My new fave character is one Nomiya, who doesn't enter the story until volume 4. He's definitely grown on me. We'll see if he's still king in a book or two. :)
Nana - I'm 3/4ths through volume 13, so things are slowly but surely progressing. I just lettered an awesome short scene that had my yaoi fangirl self squeeing with joy, especially since this is very likely the closest we'll ever get to some manly action in this series. (Woe...) But hey, it's definitely fun while it lasts. :3 Nana has officially developed its own emo girl, though for reasons we have yet to discover. I genuinely like this girl, though. I hope we learn more about her, and that she doesn't remain a side character. The cast of Nana is already huge and convoluted, but I definitely want more info on this girl. Volume 7 of Nana came out in October, and is the last volume of chapters that first appeared in Shojo Beat. The Jan issue of SB says vol 8 will be out in January.
Naruto - Vol 25 is out! This volume reveals the whole story behind the horrible past of Sasuke and Itachi--which is why I wanted to letter it so much. It also has the beginning of the great Saskue/Naruto showdown! This is my 2nd and last volume of Naruto to go straight to GN. From here on, my Naruto books will first appear in Shonen Jump. ^^V I finished vol 32 several weeks ago, and am now waiting for corrections. Shippuuden manga began in the January issue of Shonen Jump, which is already out. My first Shippuuden volume is 29, so it will be three or four issues before my stuff is in the mag again. I'll be sure to tell everyone when it begins to run! Thanks to some serious schedule juggling, I have two more Naruto volumes in my future. XD Not only vol 38 in the summer, but now vol 35!! Kyaaaa! You guys know how much I love Naruto, so it's a thrill to be able to letter more. I'm very very happy I was able to work out a schedule that will let me!! I'm sure I'll gripe a bit about my workload when it comes, but it's just a little stress relief. ^^V My love for Naruto holds no bounds, and is surpassed only by my passion for Skip and Zetsuai.
New Title 2 - ZOMG I finished it today. *massive sigh of relief* This means I'm down to the core 4 until sometime in January, when New Title 3 starts up. I still have no idea when New Title 2 will officially be announced, let alone when it will appear in book form. Who knows??? At least once it is announced, you guys can google/wiki/animenewsnetwork for info about it. Heh. Now that the first lettering pass is done, I'm wondering how bad the corrections will be. Hmmmm....
Skip - I'm about one chapter into lettering volume 14. This volume begins a rather different type of story for Skip. Those of you who enjoy the more romantic moments will finally have something to squee about...though the romance is still most definitely in Skip's wonderfully insane style. Heeeeeee. *is a happy chibi elf* I have the Japanese tanko through vol 16, so I know what happens. >:3 And yes, amazingly enough, this story arc lasts all the way through vol 16!! Whoa! On the English Skip GN front, vol 10 just came out. Be sure to check out the cover for some Mr. Tsuruga eye candy! Not as good as his bishounen goth glory on vol 8's title page, not the wet shirt and roses OMG from the cover of vol 9, but still work a look. ^^ I never turn down Mr. Tsuruga page time. *coughs*
