my brain is blank X.x

Tomorrow I'll officially be giving Usagi (my laptop) her first spin. I'll be visiting family, which involves a 2.5 hour round trip in the car. I can't afford to lose much time in regards to work, so I just installed Photoshop on Usagi. Of course, to use Usagi for work I need my fonts, all 300 fonts of them. Wheee! But not Helvetica. Helvetica IS on Tsukushi. I know this b/c I use it for page numbers on her. But for some reason Helvetica is not in the fonts folder, and thus I couldn't transfer it to Utena nor to Usagi now. This causes me much ire. /rant.

I don't have a small drawing tablet yet for Usagi, and Doumyouji and Anthy are both huge and bulky, so this first time I'm only going to do Naruto corrections. They're 90% text tweaks, which can be done with keyboard and mouse. Whew!

I really haven't been having the best week, mostly due to work and moving stress. :P I actually typed out all my current worries in a long paragraph of doom, but I decided to spare my flist. ^^;;; Suffice it to say that I have a great deal on my mind at the moment. U.U

Here's something you might find amusing: I do believe I'm allergic to raw plums. I've been eating dried plums, the kind you get in dried fruit mix, for years with no problem. I love the plum ice cream you can buy at certain Asian food restaurants! If only I could buy it in the store! I enjoy the odd glass of plum wine. Because of those things, I decided to try raw plums, straight off the tree, so to speak. I ended up eating three different kinds, over a period of about 4 days. Then while changing to exercise later that last day of plum indulgence, I noticed the tell-tale sign of small red bumps across my abdomen. I know what those mean thanks to my experience a few years ago with low-fat Wheat Thins. And raw plums are the only new thing I've eaten lately. The bumps are gone now, so in a day or two I'll eat another raw plum to find out if it's a certain type of plum or all of them in general. T.T

This makes me very sad, as I quite enjoyed eating my raw plums. They were sweet and sticky and delicious. Why couldn't I be allergic to something disgusting, like broccoli? I hate broccoli. It looks all innocent and tree-like, but it tastes like dirt when raw, is horrid cooked, smells revolting while cooking, and feels nasty in my mouth when I'm forced to eat it. I'd be delighted to be allergic to broccoli, to have the perfect excuse to never eat it again. "I'll pass on the broccoli, as I'm allergic" instead of "I'll pass on the broccoli, as I find it completely vile." But nope. I'm apparently allergic to yummy sweet sticky juicy plums. Chikushou!!!!!

On a fun note, I loaned Sunshine to my mom, and she burned through it in 3 days, too. Hahahhaha!!! She agrees, it is indeed a very good book and she wants a sequel as well!! Ms. McKinley, are you listening??

ETA a Public Service Announcement: When transferring fonts from your fonts folder to a different location, be sure to copy and paste. If you drag-drop, Windows could very well chose to move the files from your fonts folder to the new location instead of copying them, thus removing the fonts from your system. And you might not notice until you open a page of manga in Photoshop and stare in horror at the error message proclaiming all your tried and true fonts ARE NOT THERE...when you've already deleted the fonts from the flash drive you used to transfer them to your laptopl WTF, Tsukushi?!?! What are you trying to do to me?!?!?!?!?!?! *carefully copies and pastes the fonts back from Usagi to the flash drive and then reinstalls them on Tsukushi. Much cursing is witnessed by Spicer-kitty and Braveheart during this event. Thankfully, being cats, they ignore it and go back to sleep.* /Public Service Annoucement
