Backlog cleared? CHECK.
I just caught up with my Captive backlog. I am officially no longer behind. *grateful tears*
SO! Now that I no longer have to do at least 5--and preferably more like 10--pages of Captive a day, WHAT am I going to do with that new-found spare time???
Start Honey 10, of course. *blows raspberries*
Thankfully, Shoujo Editor #2 was able to give me a huuuuge window to letter this final volume of Honey, when I went to her with Bambi eyes asking for an extension. The benefit of having a regular title printed in the mag is that the printing schedule is slower than direct-to-book form, so it doesn't take too long with a normal lettering schedule of 1 book every 8 weeks to pull far ahead of the mag printing. This allows for for generous deadlines like I had for Honey 9, and now for 10.
I'm sure once I finish Captive 3, I'll be starting vol 4 immediately. (If SE4 hasn't lined up someone else to do it, since vol 3 here is really pushing deadlines on her (SE4's) end.) Thus, my life will be pure shoujo and consist of only Captive, Honey, Nana, and Skip for a couple months.I'm gonna be sick of sparklies. Until it's time to start Clay 15. I wonder if I"ll have a little Naruto in there....? Prolly not. I've mentioned it before, but Nana is back to the normal 8 weeks per book schedule. Last year, we really backed off on the Nana lettering when it was removed from the magazine lineup. Now that Nana is direct-to-book, the printing has caught up, (my freebie copies of Nana 13 came a few days ago) and I'm lettering vol 16 now, so it's time for Nana to revert back to 8 weeks so we can skate just in front of the book printings like normal. The main reason I was able to start lettering sporadic Naruto volumes back in early '07 was b/c Nana's deadlines were so few and far between.
Hmmm. 8 weeks a book, so it's usually 4 pages a day. 4 titles x 4 daily pages = 16 a day page quota. *makes a face* But it could be worse...and with the Honey deadline so distant (in January) it will probably be more like 14 pages a day. BUT some of these Nana volumes are 250 pagers with bonus chapters (my current vol 16, for example) so that will eat up the smaller Honey quota. Hmmmm.
Anyway, my life will be pure shoujo for a while, probably until just after the new year. Assuming the Clay translator isn't late (again.) Oh HAY, I just remembered Nana 16's bonus chapter is about Nobu. Kyaaa! My fave!! And that means...NOrat bastard TAKUMI. Sweeeet!!! Now, if only Honey 10 is easy, life would be that much easier. Please please please please! *Bambi eyes at the manga no kami this time* I'll be finding out how bad Honey 10 is starting tomorrow, when I begin lettering and making they key sheet. Yes, I have the Japanese tanko for Honey 10. I've had it since I started the series last year. And yes, this means I never looked at it. You know I hate spoilers! *more raspberries* I have the tankos for Nana through vol 20, and I haven't looked at those either. 20 is horribly tempting though, since I've heard from two sources that something huge happens. I must resist! If any of you know, DO NOT tell me. Spoilers bad!!!
*pokes herself* Okay, you've cleared the backlogyet again. Now...KEEP IT THAT WAY!!
