another laugh at my expense

I made a complete ass out of myself today. *facepalm* Right duped, I was! My one still-active email mailing list (remember those??) is for this prestigious shoujo anime club I somehow managed to join back in 1999 or so. This morning I checked my email and saw a message from someone squeeing about X Japan performing at Madison Square Garden on September 13. OMG!!!!!!! I freak out, read the article and text the news to my three X Japan appreciating friends. A squee fest immediately begins with two of them, and we start plotting plane tickets and places to sleep and ride the buzz for three hours, happily imagining hearing our favorite band live and in person.

Then, on the phone with one of those same fans, she mentions that X Japan is not listed on the Madison Square Garden's events calendar, and what about that comment on the same article page about Yoshiki hurting himself? I take a closer look at the web page and note the suspiciously low number of the article's web addy, when a recent article's number was much higher, Then I look at the DATE of the article. April 3rd, 2008. A quick google reveals that yes, that date is corrent. And the concert ended up being canceled anyway.

Feeling very foolish and sad, I texted my two fangirl friends and told them of my error. OOPS. I then emailed that mailing list and pointed out the article was a year old, to prevent anyone else from a repeat of my mistake.

*headdesk* Always check the facts--and dates--before starting squeefests, mina-san. I just hope the girl who started this mess of mine with her squeeful list email made an honest mistake. She hasn't posted anything else to the list.... at least I didn't make any reservations or lay down any money.

*sigh* X Japan live....*wibbles*

News from Clay Editor 3! I should have the script for vol 15 this time next week. I'm so glad the female fan service is back in this volume. :3

I have the logo for Natsume, so I can finally finish chapter 1. They're really getting creative with logos these days...like the Wanted logo, this one has lots of killer empty space around and inbetween letters and flourishes. *eyes cross* BUT! The Japanese logo is black with a white border then a black line around that and a 2nd white line on the outside edge. That fills up those holes and blank spaces quite nicely. ^3^ Let us hope Shoujo Editor 2 lets me mimic that style and not have me stick with the plain black with white border (and very spacious) logo that will be hell to retouch. Please please please... *gazes upon her manga books most beseechingly to invoke the kindess of the manga no kami*
