Whoa.
It took me three days to manage it during my breaks from work, but I finally finished watching Star Trek '09.
I must say, that film is very...ambitious, brave, arrogant, and OMG I can't believe they did that. O.o
40 years of TV episodes and books suddenly rendered AU, with the lone exception of Enterprise.
Whoa.
I see where the sudden influx of new Kirk/Spock slashers came from. All those nose-to-nose arguments WERE rather erotic. *adjusts her slash goggles*
I still can't get over the film's ending. I thought for sure the characters would fix everything and set the universe back to the way it was supposed to go, but nope. O.o Thus the reason for my list of adjectives above. I couldn't pick just one to describe my take on it.
Oh, and the 3-second power outage I had today has confirmed it's time for me to replace Edward, my UPS. Once I do, what do I do with him? He's a shoebox sixed plastic rectangle filled with A HUGE BATTERY and electronics that weighs 20 pounds. Bwuh? Will an electronics store take something like this for recycling?? I have no idea, but I don't want to just heave him into the dumpster and leak acid everywhere. Advice???
