Shigoto Update! It's been a while...
I found another one. I just did a search on DA for "model sheet" to help me think outside my own drawing box, and the first one I clicked on ended up being for a man named Giancarlo Valentino D'Osta. It's a plague! A plague, I tell you!! Awesome model sheet, though. SFW.
How about a shigoto update, since that's why pretty much everyone's here?
Claymore - I'm doing corrections for vol 15 today, thankfully all type changes. YAY! The book will be completely finished in a couple hours. Should be on shelves around September or so. (My guess.) I already have the tanko for vol 16, which focuses on supporting characters. The ending has me actually WANTING to be spoiled for vol 17, as I can't believe what is going on. *is miffed at a certain someone* Don't just LIE there, stupid! *kicks*
Nana - Vol 19 is done, and I'm already a third of the way through vol 20. Interestingly, there's no omake pages in 20, which is fine with me! I dread each edition of The Family Times, let me tell you. *shudders in horror* I am NOT going to miss it this round. Some major bombshells are dropped in vols 19 and 29. My my my...still no one in a coma, though. ^^V
Naruto - vol 46's conversion was finished last week. Not much to say here. If you're reading Jump, you're ahead of the storyline. I like Naruto's red guyliner. :3
Natsume - I'm a fourth of the way into vol 2. The story is still episodic, but most series take a couple volumes to settle into a long plotline. If it's going to happen to Natsume, should be pretty quick. I still haven't started watching the anime. I need to finish at least one of my other currently watching series first, and I am avoiding spoilers.
new title 5 and 6 - SE3 hasn't said anything is amiss, so things must be progressing normally on her end. I won't start letting for a few more months, at least.
Skip Beat - All I have left of vol 20 is corrections. I'm already lettering vol 21, though I'm only about a 5th of the way in. My copy of the tanko for 22 arrived yesterday, and through massive willpower I managed not to flip through the whole thing. It was very trying, oh yes. SE2 told me Sho-chan was still not back in the storyline, which made it a bit easier to resist temptation. On a related note, Supposedly the Skip Powers That Be are still debating a 2nd season of the Skip anime, but my guess is if they aren't already planning it, it's out. *sigh* I really wanted to see anime Reino, not to mention the Sudden Love Story arc. Oh well. I want the Skip fanbook. Viz only licenses fanbooks for uber popular series like Bleach, Naruto, and Death Note, so not much chance of one for Skip. *sigh*
I really want to reread Nana and Skip from the beginning, just to do it. I jump around so much through each volume as I letter that I lose track of the story, especially in Nana. You know, Nana of the constant flashforwards and flashbacks and surprise! POV change!!! I did reread Skip not too long ago, hunting for the page of Kyoko's double revenge poster setup in her room. I think the series was out to vol 12 at the time? Anyway, I feel the need to read Nana more than Skip. Or maybe I just want to yell at Hachi and call her names again when she does THAT. Ugh.
I think I'm going to add my original artwork updates to the shigoto lineup. It IS my future, after all. :D As implied in my opening for this post, I'm working on the model sheets for my as yet untitled manga short story. I'm reminded with every stylus stroke how much figure drawing practice I need. :| At least I'm not procrastinating any more. I only have two main characters, so perhaps by this time next week I'll be drawing manga pages. That would be shiny
Unexpected good news! Someone has asked me to draw them Naruto fanart! Kyaa! They want a page of manga, subject matter up to me, as long as it contains Foxy Boy and much to my delight--Gaara. Heeeee. I'll have to think up some cool staging for an action scene. *rubs hands together with anticipation* I'm definitely going to have to do something about Gaara's Shipppuuden clothes, b/c that suit thing is TERRIBLE..
That's it for this update. I'm reading my SF book club's July selection, Day of the Triffids. O.o This book is incredibly unnerving. D= I keep having to take breaks. I might have to pull out the big guns and unwind with Hikaru no Go or One Piece or something half-way through. Ghaaa! (Pretty impressive how scary I'm finding it, considering the book was written in the 50s!)
