I'm a bad influence...

Because by father is writing fanfiction. For Harry Potter. And my dad is 59 years old. *blink blink*

I thoroughly blame myself. I mean, if I didn't keep babbling on about my own stories and my plot bunnies and the wonderful fics I find by other people, he'd still consider fanfic a fanzine thing for die-hard Trekkies. The plot bunny jumped him a few days ago. He he told me about then, and wanted me to write it. I laughed and reminded him that I had my own HP fic ideas, so he should write it himself.

So he is. He's been working on his outline for two days now. It's next-gen, with Albus, Scorpius, and Rose at Hogwarts. He kept babbling about it at dinner, asking Mom and me for our opinions and bouncing ideas off of us. Some of them are pretty good, actually!! He can really relate to Albus and James, since he was the oldest of three brothers. He kept going on and on so much that I couldn't even read one sentence of my book! I now know where my own excitement and enthusiasm for new projects comes from.

Heh. My dad's a pretty good writer, though he hasn't published anything in two decades. I've already pointed him at JKR's official HP site for info, and reminded him that technology doesn't work at Hogwarts. And of course he asked me to be his beta, though I made sure he knew he'd need a Britpick, too. And I cut Albus becoming a Gary Stu in the bud.

But who knows, maybe he'll post it on ffn and Luna. Though I'll probably have to do it for him. Heeeee. HP fanfic by my dad. *giggles* 

EDIT: I read his outline. It's good, and I"m not just speaking as a daughter.  =D (Waiii!! Tou-chaaaan! XD)
