Taihen daaa!!!

I had a bit of excitement today. I smelled woodsmoke when I went outside to get the mail. As I was walking back to my house, I saw it. I ran up on the roof, then ran back down (underground house, remember) and onto the rock pile from the drainage repairs we did last year. The rocks gave me a slightly better view. A fire it was indeed. Too big for hotdogs, Too spread out to be a controlled brush fire. Not to mention too windy and too dry to be having a controlled brush fire anyway. It was in a stretch of trees and brush about a quarter mile from my house, and the wind was blowing this way. D=

I ran back inside and made a few phone calls, including 911. Ran back out and watched the fire from on top of the rocks. I could hear it snapping, and I saw a tree suddenly go up like a lit torch. Fwoooosh!!! D8 That was really something. Finally I heard the firetrucks, so I ran to the street and told them where it was. Thankfully they figured out how to get to it, since there are no roads or easy pathways leading to that large stretch of foresty brush. I heard two more firetrucks come from the north to help. About four hours later, it was completely out. Yay.

And that was my Good Deed for the day. ^^V

Unrelated side note: I've burned out Tsuwabuki's left control key. T.T This disturbs me greatly, as I use it all the time. Quick highlighting! Quick copy and paste! And all my self-made Photoshop actions! T.T Noooo!! Now I have to move my left hand to the right control key, which slows me down. T.T Tsuwabukiiiiii..I know you're young and delicate, but you aren't supposed to do this to me!!!
