Aye...there's the rub!
27/6/07 23:28It's time for me to decide if I want to renew my subscription to Hana to Yume. Unfortunately....I think the correct choice is fairly obvious. I still haven't finished translating my first issue's chapter of Skip--I haven't touched it in two weeks b/c of burnout. I've barely skimmed the other 12 titles in the magazine, several of which I'm rather interested in. The magazine is so thick, and issues are published twice a month, so storing it takes up a great deal of space. And I know me, I'd never want to sell/give away/recycle my magazines...the stack of them would just keep growing and growing while I fell further and further behind.
I do love knowing that I have the newest chapter of Skip almost the moment it's available ("knowing I have" since I'm not "reading"...), but when I consider all the above, plus the fact that I'm paying $11 an issue...I think it's best I don't renew. What with my six issues and all the other non-Skip Japanese tankos I already own, I have more than enough translation material to keep me busy for years, and I'll bet hard money that I'll have the relevant Skip tankos before I could possibly finish translating the Acts myself, anyway. O_o
So. Kyoko-chan, it's been fun, but you'll already keep me busy for months to come. I'll see you in book form next time, ne?? And I'll have Tomo's wonderful scripts to fill in the blanks!! Heh! (Tomo, you're awesome, you know that?? <3 <3 Hearts for you!!! XD)
No, I'm not going to give up translating my six HtY Skip chapters. But I'm not going to stress about it, either. Translation for me is fun, and I intend to keep it that way. ^^V
