Osu, minna!

Through the 2nd half of 2007 and all of 2008, I was lettering 6 titles more often than not. (Captive, Clay, Honey, Nana, Naruto, Skip, and Wanted in various combinations). Those of you who've been reading my blog for a while know that I almost lost it several times during repeated sessions of Work Hell. Six titles is just too many. Even five titles is verrrrry difficult. Thus, I have arrived at what I hope will be my lucky number: 4. (Which I find amusing since 4 is the unlucky number in Japan. Heh.)

As I've mentioned in previous posts, Honey will be coming to an end in January, and Captive around March. That would leave me with my regular titles of Claymore, Nana, and Skip. Room for one more!

Last Friday, Shoujo Editor 2 contacted me about a title to replace Honey. Of course I can't say the name nor identify the mangaka, but it sounded cool and a little different. Another shoujo series, but similar to Honey in that it isn't your standard story and artwork style. It's also still being published in Japan with no end in sight, like my three staple titles. After seeing some scans, I accepted. Thus, my newest tag: New Title 4.

Today, SE4 contacted me about one of her new titles to ask if I could letter it, but I stuck to my guns and passed. T.T It was painful--the artwork was so pretty, and OMG bishounen EVERYWHERE--but I resisted. Four titles will hopefully keep me in food and my apartment, while giving me enough spare time to get to work on my original manga. No, I haven't forgotten it!

So! Let us hope I didn't just shoot myself in the foot, eh?? Though I do hope to take a chapter or two of Naruto when I can. :3 I miss Naruto-kun!!
