Hmm....

I'm thinking of holding a fanfiction contest. To be honest, I've been thinking about doing it for two years, ever since I found out they existed. I've only entered one contest, that one back in '07, which was kind of a farce. Only four (five?) people entered, the contest deadline and judging was pushed back a total of 6 months, and I still haven't received my prizes. (No big deal, as I never expected them to arrive anyway. Does that make me jaded or a realist?) :B

So. Any input here? What did you like or not like about the contests you've entered or heard about? Things to avoid? Things to definitely do? Input please!
