slr2moons: a self-portrait, of me in my usual habitat: in front of my computer monitors! (chibi s2m)

My turn for randomness!!

Slr2Moons' 10 Tricks for Keeping Warm in Cold Weather when turning up the thermostat isn't an option.

1. Socks. You'd be amazed what a difference wearing socks will make. If one pair isn't enough, then don a second. ^^

2. Extra layers of clothes. A sweater, a sweatshirt, a 2nd pair of pants etc. This one is admittedly rather obvious.

3. Jumping Jacks. Some vigorous jumping jacks do much to get the blood pumping!! My number of choice is 40. Be sure you stand where you won't crash into furniture, other people, or smack light fixtures/fans with your arms. (ouch)

4. Drink something hot. Coffee, hot chocolate, tea, etc. Sometimes a hot drink will make me break into a sweat! If you're worried about calories, then tea sweetened with Splenda or the equivalent is guilt-free.

5. Appliances. Yes, appliances. Dish washers emit quite a bit of warm steam...or at least mine does. Heh. Also, when your food is finished cooking, try sticking your hands/arms inside the oven while it cools off. Make sure you don't touch the sides or oven door, though. *wince*

6. A cat. Cats are rather warm creatures, and if convinced to lay down in your lap, on your stomach/back/butt/legs, they can do much to heat your cold self. And you'll do the same for the cat, creating a mutually beneficial warming relationship. Dogs might work for this too, though they would be a bit pungent. And bring drool concerns.

7. A blanket. This one is also rather obvious, but if you have a big enough blanket and can drape it over your head, Virgin Mary style, it really does help. You can also combine this method with #6 for even more heat.

8. A boy/girlfriend/close friend. Nothing like another person to help warm you up. Theoretically. I have yet to try this method myself, but the idea seems sound.

9. Plant lights. Some plant lights emit quite a bit of heat. So nudge Ferny to the side and enjoy that bright light yourself.

10. Go outside in the cold. Stand there for about 15 seconds, then dash back indoors. Inside will feel toasty warm then!!

End. ^^V

OMG, it's mine it's mine IT'S MINE!!!!! I have the opportunity to work on three volumes of the one manga I would move mountains to letter!!!  AGHHHH!!!! And not only do I get to work on it, but...*drumroll* the editor said they "wanted someone good" and apparently I was their first choice!!! OMG OMG OMG OMG!!!!! XD XD XD XD XD

*flipping cartwheels and running screaming around the house*

KYAAA!!!!! I'm still sworn to secrecy, so can't say anything more specific. I hereby dub this manga "Temp Title" in my journal until I can call it by name. Any and all guesses as to the actual title will be met with the vague "I must reveal nothing", be they right or wrong. But those who know me should be able to figure it out...  XD XD XD XD XD XD XD XD XD *faints from sheer joy*
