slr2moons: a self-portrait, of me in my usual habitat: in front of my computer monitors! (Default)
Today I intended to spend a good 4 or 5 hours writing, but it just didn't happen. On Wednesday, I bumped up my running intensity again. Now I'm at 3 minutes run, 1 walk, for the entire 3.25 mile route. This being the third day, I am wiped out. Blargh.

I also lettered a Skip Page from Hell today, a pink one. With flashbacks.

Behold the Page from Hell, and cower before it in terror! )

(Wow, I AM tired. It took me four tries to type the end lj-cut code.)

Write-in #3 is tomorrow, in a new place. I am excited! Even though I can't figure out why Google Maps driving directions wants me to make a turn around the block to reach the place, when by all appearances and the Google Maps camera, I can just do a left turn right into the place. WTHIDGI. There's a left turn lane, and no no-left-turn sign on the stoplight, and the street isn't one-way. Whatever. I'll figure it out tomorrow.

Everyone, I hope you have more energy than me! And that my Page from Hell write-up wasn't too confusing. ^^
slr2moons: a self-portrait, of me in my usual habitat: in front of my computer monitors! (caffeine)
I just finished the first pass of Clay 22, right on time. ^^ I also did a little experiment with the pdf. Those of you who have no interest in lettering or publishing can skip this part. Here, I'll put it behind a cut. PDF crunchings! A comparison by s2m )

In other work news, for Skip fans who have hard-copy vol 29, you might have noticed the white margin around almost all the pages. This is because the page files we were sent from Japan were actually cropped across the width smaller than normal. To preserve as much artwork as possible, the pages were set up by Viz for printing without full bleeds. Thus, the white margins almost everywhere. I'm glad Viz was willing to show the white around the margins, so readers can see all the available art! And thankfully, Skip 30's pages were sent at a nice, fat size. In fact, the largest of the three sizes Skip has come in so far. C: Yay!

Now that work is done until Natsume 14 or a new title arrives, it's back to artwork for me! I'm still working on the bday present for Star-chan, but she kindly said she doesn't mind if I put her pic on pause so I can finish the bros calendar pic for this year. The official deadline is the 15th, in four days. All I have is a rough sketch. *has huuuuuge sweatdrop* I know, I know!! >< Thankfully ensuing knows I'll probably be a little late. I'm going to work on the pic full-time until it's done.

I've waited too long to make an LJ post. I keep thinking of all sorts of topics to babble about, but I don't want to post a novel here. :B I'll save them for the next few days!! I'd like to post more often again.

Time for me to upload those pdfs to Clay Editor 4 and then fire up the bros calendar pic again. Busy busy busy!!

Let me start this post by saying: I hate masonry. As in the stonework, not the sekrit society. You'll see why next week, when I will have finished my pic for this year's Het Big Bang. Working on it half an hour a day for the previous weeks wasn't enough. I need to put in a minimum of 2 hours a day in this final stretch to finish in time. Pic is due Sunday.

Thankfully, work is under control! Skip 30 is almost done, with only one medium and a handful of easy pages left. This is good because I now have script for Clay 22. Remember how I said that earlier volume last year was so full of fighting it was pretty much one big fight scene? Welp, 22 really IS one big fight scene! The same bad guy, the same scene, with a bunch of different women waving swords at it. FUN TIMES. *wonders if that counts as a spoiler*

I've had an eventful week. On Wednesday I was the chauffeur for a friend's day surgery. I'm still not comfortable driving downtown, and that make it extra-fun. Then on Saturday, I helped Chiz and Neeka move to their gorgeous new place. I'm still sore! Only a little bit in my forearms, though. Apparently I really did manage to lift with my legs. ^^

Wow, when I was thinking about making a post, I kept thinking of all these fun and chatty things to say. And now, when I'm here typing, I can't come up with anything. :P

I recently caught up reading the wonderful shoujo manga "We Were There" by Obata Yuki. I had to stop at 13, because I have yet to buy 14 (no one carries it in physical store, and I keep forgetting to order it online), and 15 isn't out yet. Unfortunately, this is another series that only gets one volume released here a year. *hugs WWT and Kaze Hikaru close* I still love you!! Anyway, I'm quite irritated with the female lead of that series. Ugh. I just want to smack her. And while I do like the male lead, at this point I've lost patience with him to the extreme and am rooting for the other guy.

But of course, given the Law of First Love Interest Introduced (namely that they always win) and that ALL the book covers feature female lead with male lead, the other guy doesn't stand a chance. *kicks the stupid leads*

This is proof it's a good series, though. If I didn't care about the characters, then it would be forgettable and a waste of time. Nrgh.

In fannish news, the first chapter of my next fanfic is with my beloved beta-reader and BFF, Star-chan. I've been typing this on and off since January, when I started plotting it as a direct opposite to the extremely dark fic I wrote for Yuletide. *wince* When Chapter One is ready to go up, I'll be posting it to my Dreamwidth account, FF.net, AO3, and Luna. Skyehawke too, though I think I'll wait a bit on that one. I'll be linking them all here. ^^ Oh, and this is the Summer Wars/Skip Beat! romantic comedy crossover fic I've mentioned earlier. :D

My first hour of Big Bang piccing is done, so it's time to get to paid work. Yes, Kyoko-chan, it's your turn!
slr2moons: a self-portrait, of me in my usual habitat: in front of my computer monitors! (D'awwww so kyooooot!!)
I've been quite sociable the past two weeks! (Shocking, right?) Saturday the 19th I helped [livejournal.com profile] knastymike with the heavy lifting part of his move into a new apartment. It wasn't that bad...except the leather recliner. That thing was SO HEAVY OMG. >< I was sore for two days! Small price to pay for good company, though. And Mike bought[livejournal.com profile] inkytwist (who tackled packing and unpacking the kitchen...YEEK!) and me food at Old Chicago Pizza (OM NOM NOM), and frozen yogurt after we saw the Avengers.

Speaking of which, fun film! Even with me not knowing much Avengers canon at all. :B I do know enough to want a Loki movie, where he can be badass and awesome and crack that smile and wear more tuxedos. :3

The next day, I drove down to Salem to meet up with one of my Sci-Fi book club buds, Acacia, and we went to see Battleship. It was fun! I liked it more than Avengers, too. *dodges tomatoes* It's true! Even if they killed off the actor we went to see the film for. :P~~~ At least he took his shirt off at one point. ^///^ And yes, he also appeared on-screen in uniform, which is what we bought our tickets for in the first place. This was Alexander Skaarsgard, BTW. Best-known as Eric Northman, sexy Viking vampire in True Blood. Rowr! We ate at an El Salvadorian place. It was very tasty. :9

After that, I scrambled like mad to finish Naruto 59 and Skip 29 on time, which I did manage. ^^ Skip is now completely in the can, still awaiting corrections on Naruto. Clay 21 is almost done, I'm waiting for either more corrections or the go-ahead to upload. Now I'm powering along with Natsume 13! And this volume is making my BL-loving heart just pitter-pat. *giggles like she's 14*

Then this weekend, I lost my beloved pocketknife on Friday morning, during my usual run. I didn't notice it was gone until I was emptying my pockets after finishing, and the knife wasn't there. I immediately retraced my entire 3.5 mile loop, and no knife. T.T As much foot traffic as this area has, it could have been on the ground as short as 20 seconds before someone scooped it up.

I've had that knife since 1998, when my Dad gave it to me before I headed off to art school. *cries* I keep telling myself it's just an object, and if someone decides to commit murder with it, that they'll wipe my fingerprints off it, too. >< My mom says Dad will have fun shopping for a replacement for me. This gives me something to anticipate, at least. I feel naked when I go outside without my knife. I alllways carried that knife with me everywhere. *sniffle*

On Friday evening, knastymike and inkytwist sent me an impromptu invite to Mongolian grill, after they finished cleaning up knastymike's old apartment. I'd just eaten dinner, so I had ice cream while they had real food. Good company and conversation!

And on Monday, it was [livejournal.com profile] saladbats' birthday! I headed out to a Doctor Who-themed room inside a fish-and-chips place in the NE of Portland. Only took me 15 minutes to drive! I could have ridden the Max, but by the time I realized how simple it would have been, it was already too late to make it that way. :P No matter, driving was fun! I made a new friend,[livejournal.com profile] winnett, saw[livejournal.com profile] snottygirl again, and hope to hang out with all of them more, soon! We are all writers or appreciators of same, and the whole lot of us are complete geeks. FUN! XD Even if all the Doctor Who themed stuff was wasted on me. *makes flyby noise*

Oho, and I ordered a Scottish soda. "Irn Bru". Tastes like bubblegum. I liked it, though I couldn't drink it every day. Far too sweet!

One of the webcomics I enjoy every week, Candi, is asking for guest strips. I'm going for it! OMG SO EXCITING!! XD I'm going to try to finish it before the 1st. KYAAA!! It will be my first guest webcomic strip, the first of many I hope! :D

And finally, I have a [livejournal.com profile] dreamwidth account. Not sure how much I'll use it, but it's there if I need it! I'm slr2moons there too, of course. ^^
slr2moons: a self-portrait, of me in my usual habitat: in front of my computer monitors! (glasses are hawt)
I am back, victorious, from the longest drive I've made in Oregon for quite some time! Today I did a dry run to the Oregon Convention Center in my car, armed with directions from Google Maps. Worked great!

More about the drive, parking, another missing delivery box, and a T-shirt I'd like to wear to Stumptown. )

Work-wise, I'm chugging along. I fell behind last week, but managed to catch up with both Clay and Skip. Now I'm doing the same with Naruto--but only after I finish my 8 daily pages of the other two. It's slow going, obviously.

I have been sucked into the addictive crack that is My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. *big grin* I'll share more on a dedicated post in a few days, I think. Heeee! XD

Wednesday night, winter said goodbye with a beautiful snowfall. My area had about an inch of snow, I think. I walked in it twice, once Wednesday evening when it had been falling for about half an hour, and then the next day when it was already melting. It lasted until 3 PM, I was impressed. Today on my walk, I saw the sad remains of a couple of snowmen, fighting to live on lawns in my neighborhood.

Good-bye, snow! See you again in 9 months or so. *wistful sigh*

For the record, having grown up in north-central Texas, where snow falls maybe 3 times a year and actually sticks once every other year, it will always hold a magical place in my heart. I'm sure I'd have already changed my mind if I'd moved to, say, Minnesota...but here in my part of Oregon, it snows maybe 7 times a year and sticks for 2, so it's still magical to me. :3

I am also happy to say that I am as caught up with Bleach manga as it is possible to (legally) be in North America! Thanks to my subscription to SJ Alpha, I can read the new chapter only 2 weeks after it appears in Japan. The chances of me happening across spoilers in fic or art are negligible!!! I can now read almost any fic without fear!!! Yes, this pleases me greatly. ^^

Next on my manga catch-up list...Bakuman. XD I have...*checks* 100 chapters to read. Not as bad as Bleach, for which I had about 170! ^^V

I'm hard at work on Clay 21 and Naruto 59. Trying to finish as many difficult pages as I can before Skip 29 and Natsume 13 hit. I have scripts for both, but no raw pages from Japan. Oh yes, and I finished the 2nd one-shot book I did for the new genre sort-of being released by Viz.

A little health stuff, under the cut to save those who'd rather not. )

Back to work for me! I have no idea what is going on in Clay 21, bouncing around from difficult page to difficult page as I am. Everyone is fighting everyone else, I swear. :P

ETA: Fish skin is sticky!! (Apologies to any vegetarians or vegans or see this.)

Happy Valentines Day to everyone! And to those on my flist: I am glad you are all my friends. ^^ *virtual hugs for one and all!*

I have a new title! Welcome New Title 9, another one-shot, this time with a brand-new editor! I shall dub her "BE", for reasons you'll find out soon enough. I just did several searches at Amazon, B&N.com, and the official Viz site and can find no reference to relevant titles, so...I will remain vague for now. :B Sorry, guys!

This title is rather rushed. I'll be cranking out pages as fast as I can! I really like this one. I lucked out yet again--it could have been tiresome. Yay, it's not! The story is solid, the art is clean, the char designs very beautiful. It looks a lot like Saiun, only slightly less shoujo. Eyes are smaller, and no fantastic costumes. It's still very easy on the eyes! And it's also to be lettered in InDesign, like New Title 8. It looks like I still remember how to use the program. This is good! I'm glad my monthly subscription to the proggie isn't going to waste.

Amusingly enough, the book does not have one single page number. Not one, not even in the original Japanese version. That has never happened to me before, not in ~120 lettered books! One volume of Skip came close, but it still managed to have 3 or 4 page numbers. A milestone has been reached!

Sherlock by BBC, Bleach manga homework so I can use my SJA sub, and book club tonight! )

Enough from me! I have time for at least one more page of New Title 9 before I wander off to Book Club. ^^
slr2moons: a self-portrait, of me in my usual habitat: in front of my computer monitors! (trigger)
I am almost done lettering my first book in InDesign, and the jury is still out on whether I like the program or not. Sure, it's nice to be able to change all font instances in an ENTIRE BOOK with a click, but...the program is so very not intuitive. Ugh.

Today, for example, I had to learn how to do three things:

The point of this post is that all three of my InDesign problems were NOT answered or resolved by Adobe's official site. )

Hi, BTW. ^^ I am still alive. Feeling pretty good, now the frustration I ranted about above is done. Whew!
slr2moons: a self-portrait, of me in my usual habitat: in front of my computer monitors! (insane laughter)
It's time for the "I don't know what I'm doing!" :D song! This is a completely stupid song I sing to a taunting neener-neener schoolyard melody, consisting entirely of that one line of lyrics on infinite loop. I belt it out when I'm quite literally making stuff up as I go. Such as right now, as I'm floundering around in the deep end of the InDesign swimming pool.

If I may wax psychological, I know the song is an attempt to make light of whatever it is I'm attempting and thus keep me calm, and I suppose it works.

So yeah. "I don't know what I'm dooooinnnng!" :D For example, I just had to stick a 100% bleed manga page into the program. The page in question is solid black, except for a white title and some artwork. The page's bleed wasn't big enough to fill the English version and maintain the logo's size and placement when compared to the original Japanese tanko (book)...so I drew some black rectangles to fill out the white space and complete the bleed.

But is this kosher? It looks good to me, and matches the tanko. Maybe it is, maybe it isn't. I think it will be okay...but...who knows?? Very well then, sing it with me!!!

"I don't know what I'm doooooinnnng!" :D

(I have a new title, with the ever-awesome Clay Editor 3. Don't know if I can talk about specifics yet. This is the first time I'm using InDesign. [livejournal.com profile] ensuing and [livejournal.com profile] lyschan kindly introduced me to the program with some PMs about it months ago. Now that I've actually used it--a little sorta kinda WTHIDE--I'll bet those PMs will make a lot more sense.)

Wheee!!! One more time! XD Everyone together now!!!! "I don't know what I'm doooooinnnng!" :D

This post was also an attempt to keep slr2moons calm and let her keep poking at InDesign without freaking out. Carry on with your normal Friday evening.
slr2moons: a self-portrait, of me in my usual habitat: in front of my computer monitors! (caffeine)
I post so little these days. It's not that I've abandoned LJ for Twitter, Facebook, or Tumblr like so many have--because I don't post at any of those places, either. I just don't feel the need to talk as much as I once did. I guess.

Kakashi-the-kitten is at the vet, being removed from the gene pool and tagged for tracking by Big Brother. I'm grateful for both, as he's been really rambunctious the past few weeks, and keeps attempting to escape through the front door whenever I come home. With no more testosterone in his system, he should calm done somewhat and stop running me and Spicer-kitty ragged. And if he ever DOES escape, then I'll have a much better chance of recovering him with that microchip under his skin.

Anyway, Natsume 12 and Skip 28 are both done, except for corrections. At the moment, I'm wrapping up Clay 20, then I'll be officially without work until Naruto 59 or Skip 29 arrives, whichever happens first. With all four titles caught up to the Japanese release, and me being backup for Naruto anyway, it's probably going to be feast or famine in regards to my workload. Famine like now, with only one title, feast like a few weeks ago, with all four at once. The upcoming months will be most interesting.

I find it ironic that the one holiday season I won't be visiting the hometown in TX is the one where I will barely have any work to interfere. Of course. Also just watch: since I won't have to worry about weather interfering with my flights, it WON'T freeze or snow or otherwise grow nasty this holiday season. Never fails!

Fannish concerns, ala Big Bang art, Yuletide fic, and meeting fellow writers IRL OMG! Also shopping and reading. )

Look, I actually managed to write an update. Yay!
slr2moons: a self-portrait, of me in my usual habitat: in front of my computer monitors! (Bwa?)

I've mentioned many times that I have shortcut files for each of my titles (except Naruto, b/c it's pointless) where I save hand-drawn FX that frequently appear, and everyone's handwriting fonts, and things like signs, or seals in Natsume and movie scripts covers in Skip. Today I used my Skip shortcuts file for the first time on Shetan, and things were fine. UNTIL I tried to save it with the new FX I wanted to add to my library.

Photoshop CS3 crashed. I reopened Photoshop, opened the shortcuts file, and tried to save it again with the new addition, crash. I tried restarting Shetan, tried to save the file, Photoshop crashed. And then Photoshop couldn't even open the shortcuts file at all, which was nuts because I'd been using it fine before.

I finally saved the shortcuts file to a thumb drive and opened it on my laptop, Usagi, who is running good old Photoshop CS. Opened juuuust fine. I cut the file in half, pulled out the hand-drawn FX, the different type notes, and the handwriting fonts list all as one file; and all the signs, scripts, and omake layers as a 2nd file.

Photoshop CS3 on Shetan could open the hand-drawn FX shortcuts file fine, and saved it too. Yay! But the other one? Nope.

Back to Usagi, I cut that one into three files: omake, current signs and scripts, and then old signs and scripts from previous volumes that are unlikely to be needed again. You know, like the Curara commericial stuff from vol 5, and the Dark Moon promo poster from vols 10 and 11. That stuff.

Photoshop CS3 was good with the omake, the current signs and scripts, but crashed when I tried to open the old signs and scripts. Something in the old signs and scripts files does NOT agree with Photoshop CS3, and hell if I know what it is. That file consists of nothing but images and text. That's it. *is flabbergasted*

So here's hoping I really won't be needing any of those old signs and things. If I do, I'll just open the file on Usagi, save what I need in its own tiny little Photoshop file, and reeeeely hope it doesn't happen to be whatever Photoshop CS3 doesn't like. :/

FUN TIMES. WTF, Photoshop??!

slr2moons: a self-portrait, of me in my usual habitat: in front of my computer monitors! (angst)

I finally finished a nasty two-page spread in Skip 27. The left page was a pink, the right was a purple. Ooog. The purple page was conventionally difficult for the most part, so lots of FX over gradient backgrounds, except for one huge vertical word bubble that I'll talk about in a bit. The pink page wasn't too bad as pink pages go, but only because I had the perfect lightning screen tone to go in the background of the word bubble on the left. I also had to do massive wardrobe reconstruction for one panel. That was interesting. But the main reason that pink page was indeed pink was the same word bubble I mentioned on the purple page.

Yes, the same huge vertical word balloon was on both pages. Nakamura Yoshiki, Skip's mangaka, has decided she rather likes a dramatic two-page spread with a word balloon right smack dab in the middle. (IIRC, this is the third one in the past ~3 volumes. At least she doesn't indulge in them very often. *knocks on wood*) This works just great in Japanese, since one column of text can go on the right page, the 2nd column of text can go on the left, and everything's dandy. But...it doesn't work like that in English. Thanks to the horizontal type I almost always have to use, I have three choices: squish the entire sentence onto only one of the pages and leave the other half of the bubble blank, figure out where to put extra space between the words of each line so said empty space will cross the gutter/book spine, or run the type vertically and make the letters big enough that you can still read them, even with the letters split in half.

In the case of this particular two-page spread, I did the latter. The sentence was only one simple word: "No!!", screamed out with lots of Os. Perfect for running vertically. Unfortunately, there was no way to easily align the art of each page, as the word bubble's type was the only thing that crossed the gutter, and any screen tone in the background ended at its page's edge. The bubble pretty much ran the entire vertical length of the pages, and while it was transparent (Nakamura-sensei really loves those, too...) as already mentioned, the background art never crossed the gutter. I finally made a third photoshop file, pasted in both halves of the bubble, and aligned them as best I could. I arranged the type there, and then transferred it to both pages. Each page has the full type on it. I stuck a big white bar down the appropirate edge to cover the type that would be printed on the other page. Blargh.

I started these pages yesterday morning, and tonight I have finally finished them. I am SO VERY GLAD they are done, and before Saiun 5 script arrives. (Yes, still waiting. Perhaps Monday.) It would have been hell dealing with this spread while banging out 8 Saiun pages a day. I finished my last recent Naruto magazine chapter today, too.

If you will excuse me, I think I earned a break! *staggers off*

slr2moons: a self-portrait, of me in my usual habitat: in front of my computer monitors! (Loveless Soubi)
Script for Saiun 4 arrived last Monday, a week ago. The deadline is in a month, which means 8 pages a day. Wheee! I'm perfectly on schedule so far! *knocks on wood*

Thankfully I finished Skip 25 on Saturday, which reduced my daily page quota from 20 (8 Saiun plus 4 each for Clay, Natsume, and Skip) to 16, which is definitely more manageable. I'm hoping I can start running again, as I haven't had the time to leave my apartment for more than snail mail checks and one grocery trip for the past week. It hasn't been too long since my last run, though. I shouldn't have lost too much of my stamina. --;

Things I watched and a manga review that makes me face a formerly unknown side of myself. Oh my! ).

Back to work for me. 14 more pages today to go!
slr2moons: a self-portrait, of me in my usual habitat: in front of my computer monitors! (Elegance with a sword)
Yesterday, I spent a lazy day with the wonderful [livejournal.com profile] neekaneeks  and [livejournal.com profile] mcruthless. We talked about art, and comics, and manga, and anime, and webcomics, and movies, and all sorts of other fun stuff. They also introduced me to the Showtime show "True Blood", which I've been vaguely curious about, since I've been a fan of vampires for a good 20 years. I ended up enjoying eps 1 and 2, so now there's yet another entry on my list of Shows to Watch. :B

[livejournal.com profile] knastymike  joined us after he was free from work and the great glorious geekout continued until sleep was required.

That will likely be my last guilt-free day off for quite some time. Script for Clay 19 is here, and this volume is pretty much one long fight scene. ^^;; Skip 25 is almost halfway finished. This vol is a little bit (just a little) less crazy than 24, which is good! Natsume 9 is halfway done, but it is on pause while we wait for more script. Saiun 4 could arrive any day now, and of course when it does, it will be a rush job.

Thus: no more (guilt-free) days off for me for a while. ^^

Oh yeah, and I repeated my previous posts' running performance this morning. ^^V It wasn't a fluke! XD
slr2moons: a self-portrait, of me in my usual habitat: in front of my computer monitors! (Elegance with a sword)
I just love it when I have the perfect snippet of ganked screentone to touch up a page of manga. ^^ That happened just now: I had the exact same screentone in swatch that was more than large enough to fill in a transparent word bubble for Natsume, turning what would have been a good half hour of painstaking cutting and pasting of slivers of dots into an easy 3 minute paste-rotate-trim-done! job. Heeeee. ^^V

That is all. :D

I just typed up a nice long post about work and life, and then I hit some mysterious combination of keyboard buttons by accident that kicked me back a page. I go forward again to here, and BAM! Everything is gone.

Ugh. I'm not typing all that out again. That would have been a good post, too. *is disgusted at LJ for losing it and at herself for not copying it like she usually does to prevent this very thing*

Hi guys. I'm alive and working myself to death. My birthday is in 3 days, and for the first time in my life, I don't care. Maturity: yay.

Back to work for me.

I heard from Naruto Editor this morning, and starting in the next few days, I'll be lettering 7 or 8 chapters of Naruto, while the normal letter takes a vacation. My first chapter will be #500. Kyaa! XD

This pleases me greatly, for I do miss lettering Naruto from scratch. This will let me sink my teeth into Naruto lettering proper again, instead of just the odd FX they want changed or added in for the GN!

Also: spoilers liek whoa! *blink blink* Oh well! Naruto is the one series I love that I don't mind spoilers for. Kind of pointless to get upset since I letter random volumes (and now chapters!) Eeee! *hugs for Foxy Boy and Angst Muffin*

Today I wrapped up both Clay 17 and Natsume 5. The first Work Hell of 2010, started May 19th, is finally complete.

I did it. I finished everything at or under deadline. Go, me.

I am going to be a complete vegetable for the rest of the day. I'll watch some anime or a DVD, read some fanfic, poke at my original stuff, and maybe even go to sleep early. Tomorrow, I'm going to take the whole day off and not letter a single page. Not one. It will be my first day off in two and a half months. OMGYAY.

I need some time to just zone and and rest. Or in the spirit of my work and passion:

Bo~~~~~~~~~~~... *splat*
slr2moons: a self-portrait, of me in my usual habitat: in front of my computer monitors! (zombie)
A couple paragraphs about the heat and swimming, which I dearly love! )

In work news, Saiunkoku v1, Skip 22, and Naruto 50 are all completely finished. At the moment, I "only" have Clay 17 and Natsume 5. I have 7 pink Clay pages left in this vol, and I'm trying to finish them before I have script for New Title 5. Speaking of which, at Expo, Viz announced their new licenses, which includes the true identities of New Titles 5 and 6. *drumroll*

New Title 5 is Mistress Fortune, by Tanemura Arina-sensei.
New Title 6 is Sakura Hime Kaden, also by Tanemura Arina-sensei.

And now those of you who are familiar with Tanemura-sensei's work will understand why I've been collecting screen tones and trying to clear my other titles like mad. Heh heh heh. ^^;;; If you don't know her stuff, next time you're in the bookstore check out Gentlemen's Alliance + or Fullmoon o Sagashite and you'll understand. This mangaka appears to believe white space is wasted potential. It will be interesting to see how lettering these two Tanemura titles compares with lettering Hino-sensei's Captive Hearts, which was also a lesson in cramming as much as possible onto every bit of page.

I have yet another pink Clay page mocking me from Tsukushi's monitor, so I'd best get to work. It's going to be difficult going today, but I must persevere!
